I received your letter in due time from the 5th of this month, and I was pleased to read about how you have begun to get involved with a Talmud Torah for boys at the synagogue where you go to study. It is well known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that persistent efforts in outreach never return empty—even if sometimes one does not see the fruits immediately, ultimately our side will prevail. As is known from the story of the Mitteler Rebbe of blessed memory: because of the self-sacrifice of his father, our master the Alter Rebbe, it was decreed in the Heavenly Court that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits, those connected to him and those who follow in his path will always be victorious (see notes and comments to Tanya p. 122).

As you requested, I mentioned you and your entire family at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us—and may Hashem grant success to each one of them in all their needs.
