בנועם קבלתי את מכתבו בו מודיע ע"ד התיסדות שיעור לימוד תניא בבית הכנסת שלו, ושלומד עמהם - כפי שכותב במכתבו - לפי שכלו, וגודל הזכות בזה שמקרב את בנ"י ללימוד דא"ח פנימיות התורה אין לשער ואין להעריך, ומובטחים אנו בהמשכת תוספת ברכה עי"ז בכל עניניו של הלומד ומעורר ללימוד הנ"ל.
ומה שכותב - לפי שכלו, הנה ידוע מה שכתוב וששמענו גם בע"פ כמה פעמים מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר ספר התניא הנקרא תורה שבכתב של חסידות חב"ד, הוא ע"ד לימוד תורה שבכתב, שאפילו הגדול שבגדולים אינו יכול לרדת לסוף תכליתה, ואפילו הקטן שבקטנים יכול להתחיל ללמוד בה, וכמרז"ל קטן משיתחיל לדבר אביו מלמדו תורה וכו', וה"ה בלימוד התניא, שכל אחד לומד לפי שכלו, כי לכל אחד יש אחיזה ומקום בו, ואין שייך בזה נפילת רוח באיזה דרגא שימצא את עצמו, כי אפילו הגדול שבגדולים עדיין לא בא עד תכליתו, והשי"ת יזכהו להמשיך בלימוד זה בשביל עצמו ובשביל שומעיו ושיהי' הלימוד ע"מ לשמור לעשות ולקיים.
כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אזכירו ואת זוגתו שיחיו להמצטרך להם וכפי שכתב במכתבו.

I received your letter pleasantly, in which you inform me about the establishment of a Tanya study class in your synagogue, and that you are teaching them—as you write in your letter—according to your understanding. The great merit in bringing Jews closer to the study of Chassidus and the inner dimension of Torah cannot be measured or estimated, and we are assured that this will draw additional blessing into all matters of both the teacher and those inspired to this study.
Regarding what you write—according to your understanding—it is well known what is written and what we have also heard orally several times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, that the Tanya, called the Written Torah of Chabad Chassidus, is like studying the Written Torah: even the greatest of the great cannot reach its ultimate depth, yet even the smallest of the small can begin learning it. As our Sages say: "When a child begins to speak, his father teaches him Torah," etc. So too with studying Tanya: each person learns according to his understanding because everyone has a connection and place within it. There is no room for discouragement at whatever level one finds oneself since even the greatest has not reached its end. May Hashem grant you success to continue this study for yourself and for your listeners, and may it be studied with intent to observe, do, and fulfill.
When I am at the holy resting place (the tziyun) of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I will mention you and your wife for all that you need as you wrote in your letter.
