בנועם קבלתי מכתביהם מח"י י"ט וכ"ה טבת (שני מכתבים) ע"ד הבחינות שנערכו פעמיים[1], ויה"ר מהשי"ת שתהי' התחלה בשעה טובה ומוצלחת, וכיון שלפי מרז"ל הרי רק התחלות קשות, הנה בטח להבא תהי' במהירות יותר, ואחכה לבשו"ט, ומ"ש שחוו"ד הבוחנים יודיעו כשיגמרו הבחינות. הנה, לכאורה, אינו מובן, כי אין בזה ענין שנוגע הסה"כ. ואדרבה אין לבלבל, מצד חשבונות צדדים, חוו"ד על תלמיד פלוני ופלוני, ואם אין טעם אחר בדבר, הרי יודיעו תוצאות הבחינה מהתלמידים שנבחנו כבר.
כן נתקבל מכתבם בנוגע לנסיעת השד"ר מישיבתם לאנגליא, וכבר כתבתי להרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוהרב"צ שי' שם טוב שד"ר, שכשיקבל מכתבם יתדבר אתם ע"ד הפרטים בזה.
מכתבי הקודם בטח נתקבל במועדו, ויענו עליו בפרטיות.
הצעתי בנוגע להנהגה ביום ההילולא של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, היא זו דאשתקד.

I received your letters from the 18th, 19th, and 25th of Teves (two letters) regarding the examinations that were held twice [1], and may it be the will of Hashem that this be a good and successful beginning. Since our Sages say that only beginnings are difficult, surely in the future things will proceed more quickly. I await good news from you. You wrote that the examiners' opinions will be communicated when all exams are finished. This is not understood, as there is no reason to delay for such a total. On the contrary—do not confuse matters with external considerations or opinions about specific students; if there is no other reason for delay, please report the results for those students who have already been examined.
I also received your letter regarding the trip of your yeshiva's shadar (fundraiser) to England. I have already written to Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"n involved with tzt"z etc. Moreinu HaRav Betzalel Shem Tov shadar that when he receives your letter he should discuss details with you on this matter.
My previous letter was surely received in its time; please respond to it in detail.
My suggestion regarding conduct on the yahrzeit of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden (may his merit protect us), remains as last year.

P.S.: Thank you for letting me know that you have already repaired the hut on the roof of the yeshiva building and are also making repairs on the lower floor of the yeshiva building. May it be His will that it become a faithful house for Hashem—One and His Name One.
