The holy letters of the Rebbe, volume 17. So this is letter 6,160. Baruch Hashem, Hey Nissan 5718, Brooklyn. And the Rebbe is addressing this to Maras Shula Shifria Katzonellenbogen. They actually just published a very beautiful book, and she was very close with my mother, may she rest in peace. They are from Russia, but they were in Cleveland, and they had a tremendous impact on the community over there, and they had tremendous self-sacrifice for Yiddishkeit. And you know, they have an extensive, extensive family in Crown Heights, and grandchildren, great-grandchildren. I saw a picture one time; her mother was Maryasha. Maryasha Garelik was the mother of Shula, and Shula—my nephew, the one who was here for the Siyum, his wife is Shula’s granddaughter. But anyway, an extensive, extensive family. Beracha v’Shalom.
The Rebbe says blessing and greetings. So the Rebbe says, “I was happy to receive your letter in which you write about the Purim meal from all the branches of Neshei Chabad. And may the Blessed Hashem help that this gathering from all of the branches together, in addition to the gatherings of each branch separately, should bring about a closeness of all members more and more.” And as we say in the known language, it says in the davening, “v’yeasu kulam agudah achas laasos retzoncha b’levav shalem,” that they should all form one group to do Your will with a complete heart. We say that in the holiday prayers.
And the Rebbe says that the greatness of the reward for all those who put effort into this has already been articulated in our holy Torah, which is a Toras Chaim. And therefore, the Rebbe blesses them with success in their holy work to strengthen and spread Yiddishkeit as it is illuminated and permeated with the Chassidic light and warmth more and more. And with the wish for a kosher and happy Yom Tov Pesach to all members with their families, sheyichyu, and with blessings for the holidays.
So the Rebbe is very happy that they got together, not only in their individual groups, but all together. The Rebbe references the prayer “v’yeasu kulam agudah achas,” that everyone should be united. And the Rebbe says the reward is immeasurable, as explained in the Torah. The Rebbe wishes them success in their work to spread Yiddishkeit, infused with the warmth and light of Chassidus, and blesses them with a kosher and freilichen Pesach.
Summary
The Rebbe highlights the power of unity in communal work. When individuals join together with one heart, their efforts to spread Yiddishkeit are strengthened and bring immeasurable reward and blessing.
