... במ"ש אודות דרך תשובה, הנה לכל לראש עלי להקדים נקודה בענין התשובה מתורת החסידות, שאחד מהיסודות שלה, הוא ענין השמחה ובטחון גמור ומוחלטי בבורא העולם ומנהיגו, שענין התשובה אינו דוקא על עון, כי אם וזוהי הנקודה התיכונה בכל סוגי תשובה, השיבה למקור ולראשית הכל אל האלקים אשר בראנו, ע"י אורח חיים מתאים להוראת תורתנו תורת חיים, וזהו צד השוה בכל אופני תשובה מהקל שבקלים ועד הצדיק שבצדיקים, אשר על כולם יש חיוב התשובה.
וכשאין יודעים פרטים על מה לשוב ובאיזה אופן לשוב הרי האמור זוהי הדרך הכוללת הכל, ובודאי למותר להאריך שאורח חיים על פי התורה אינו מוגבל לר"ה ויום הכפורים ושבת ויום טוב כי אם בחיי היום יומי כפשוטו, והרי ימות החול רבים הם בכמות מאשר ימי השבת ויום טוב, והם הדורשים זהירות נוספת.
אבל כאמור כל זה יכול להעשות וצריך להעשות מתוך שמחה ובטחון, ויהי רצון שאתבשר טוב במכתבי' הקרובים בהנוגע לעצמה וב"ב וכן מכל בני המשפחה שליט"א.

Regarding what you wrote about the path of teshuvah: First of all, I must preface a point about teshuvah from the teachings of Chassidus—that one of its foundations is the matter of joy and complete and absolute trust in the Creator and Ruler of the world. The concept of teshuvah is not only about sin; rather—and this is the central point in all types of teshuvah—it is a return to the Source and Beginning of everything, to Elokim Who created us, through a way of life that fits with the guidance of our Torah, the Torah of Life. This is the common thread in all forms of teshuvah—from the simplest person to the greatest tzaddik—for everyone has an obligation for teshuvah. When one does not know details about what or how to return, what was said above is the all-encompassing path. Certainly it goes without saying that a way of life according to Torah is not limited to Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Shabbos, or Yom Tov but applies literally to daily life; after all, weekdays are quantitatively more than Shabbos and Yom Tov and require extra care. But as stated above, all this can and must be done with joy and trust.
May it be G‑d's will that I hear good news in your upcoming letters regarding yourself and your family as well as from all members of your household.
