שלום רב וברכה!
בנועם נודעתי זה מזמן על דבר יסוד הישיבה הק' ותוספת תענוג גרמו לי הידיעות, אשר התפתחה מעת הוסדה בכמות, ז.א. במספר התלמידים, וכן באיכות - טיב הלימודים.
ובודאי אשר התפתחות זו, תוסיף בכל אחד ואחד מהם חיזוק ועדוד לעשות עוד יותר ועוד יותר כל אחד בענינו, להתפתחות הישיבה וכאמור הן בכמות והן באיכות.
שהרי כל אחד ביכולתו לעשות בשני הענינים, כיון שלכל אחד מישראל, הן גוף והן נשמה, הן נפש האלקית והן נה"ב.
ובכל חלקים אלו נצטוה לעבוד את בוראו וקונו, נותן התורה ומצוה המצוה, וכדבר המשנה אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני.
ומסוגלים ימים אלו להחלטות טובות ולהנהלת פעולה בכל האמור, שהרי עתה באנו מיום הבהיר, זה היום י"ט כסלו, שהוא, בלשון הרב נשיא ישראל הוא כ"ק אדמו"ר (מהורש"ב) במכתבו לבנו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, "החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו וכו' להמשיך גילוי אור פנימיות תורתנו הק' וכו' שיאיר בפנימיות נפשנו וכו' לגרש מאתנו כל מדה רעה ומגונה מהמדות הטבעיות, כי אם כל עשיותנו ועניננו (הן בעבודה, היינו תפלה ותומ"צ, והן בעניני עולם המוכרחים לקיום הגוף) יהיו בכוונה אמיתית לשם שמים אשר חפץ ה' וכו'".
ונכנסנו לימי חנוכה, אשר ענינם, אשר אף שבחוץ שקעה החמה צריך להדליק נר ה' נשמת אדם ונר מצוה תורה אור ובאופן דמוסיף והולך מיום ליום, ולא להסתפק בהנוגע לעצמו, כי אם על פתח ביתו מבחוץ דוקא, והרמז מובן, וכהודעת רז"ל אשר אין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו, ודאי לכאו"א ניתנו הכחות הדרושים למלאות תפקיד קדוש זה, וכציווי הבורא בשמחה ובטוב לבב דוקא, וכדברי המורה הגדול הוא רבנו הרמב"ם בי"דו החזקה שלו, סוף הלכות לולב.

To the holy yeshiva in the holy community of Buenos Aires, the students, the heads of the yeshiva, the mashpia and administration—may Hashem be upon them for life—many greetings and blessings!
With pleasure I learned some time ago about the founding of your holy yeshiva, and it gave me even more joy to hear that since its establishment it has developed both in quantity—that is, in the number of students—and in quality—the standard of learning.
Certainly this development will add for each one of them strength and encouragement to do even more and more in their own area for the growth of the yeshiva as mentioned, both in quantity and quality. After all, everyone can contribute in both areas, since every Jew—both body and soul, both Divine soul and animal soul—is commanded to serve his Creator and Master, Giver of the Torah and Commander of mitzvos. As it says in the Mishnah: "I was created to serve my Maker."
These days are especially suited for good resolutions and practical action regarding all this. We have just come from the bright day—this day being Yud-Tes Kislev—which is described by our leader of Israel (the Rebbe Rashab) in his letter to his son (the Previous Rebbe): "The festival which redeemed our soul in peace; light and vitality were given to our soul...to draw down a revelation of the inner light of our holy Torah...that it should shine within our soul...to drive away from us every bad or undesirable trait from natural tendencies so that all our actions (whether service—meaning prayer and Torah/mitzvos—or worldly matters necessary for bodily existence) should be with true intent for Heaven as G‑d desires..."
We have now entered into Chanukah whose theme is that even when outside it is dark one must kindle "Ner Hashem Nishmas Adam" (the candle of G‑d is man's soul) and "Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or" (a mitzvah is a candle and Torah is light), increasing each day—not being satisfied with oneself alone but placing it at one's doorway facing outward. The hint is clear. As our Sages teach: "The Holy One does not make unreasonable demands on His creatures," so certainly everyone has been given all necessary powers to fulfill this holy task as commanded by the Creator—with joy and gladness—as taught by our great teacher Rambam at the end of Hilchos Lulav.

Summary
The Rebbe encourages ongoing growth—in numbers and depth—in Torah study. He teaches that every Jew can add light through effort in both personal development and outreach, especially during Chanukah when increasing holiness brings blessing to oneself and others.
