In response to your letter in which you write that you want to know from the root what is the difference between Mussar and Chassidus, etc. — you should study the booklet "Torat HaChassidus" and "Limud Torat HaChassidus" from my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal-leha nabgam ziya, where these matters are explained very well as well as several similar topics.

Regarding what you write at the end of your letter: how is it possible to say about a physical thing that a person acquires it since a person's soul is spiritual? Since the soul becomes connected with his body, which is also physical, through this it has relevance even to other physical matters. Moreover, even to things that are contrary to its nature — that is, matters that oppose spirituality, which are materialism within physicality. Regarding a Jewish person whose essence is his Divine soul — nevertheless, since it dwells in a body, it is possible for a person to sin because the body and animal soul conceal and obscure the Divine soul.

You have surely heard about the three daily lessons established by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya — which are well known. At any rate, you should keep them from now on.
