Blessings and greetings!
In response to your letter from the end of Teves, in which you write about your relationship with those in your home and how it causes you depression of spirit, etc., and in your opinion the reason is the age difference and similar factors. In many homes there is an age difference like in yours, and although it is understandable that sometimes this leads to friction, disagreements, and the like, still it does not reach the state described in your letter. Therefore, I hope that even in your eyes the severity of the situation is greater than it truly is; rather, as is typical for youth, one sometimes reacts to matters too sharply. In any case, even if the situation is as you describe in your letter, it is clear and obvious that harsh measures are not the way to address this nor are they necessary. Instead, reflect on your path in life: at this stage you must prepare yourself during these years to acquire knowledge, absorb a spirit of faith and trust, and adopt a fitting lifestyle so that when the time comes for you to build your own home at an auspicious hour it will be a happy home both materially and spiritually—by being a strong homemaker equipped as needed for all this. All this depends on how you live and act now. Compared to such an exalted mission, all the phenomena you write about are insignificant—they are only passing matters that leave no impression at all if they are not magnified.
I hope these few lines will suffice to clarify this central point for you and calm your spirit so that from now on you will see the situation as it truly is. May the Creator of the world and its Guide—Who is ultimate goodness and essence of good—lead you on a good path in all details.
It goes without saying—but I will mention—that beyond what was said above (which applies to all Jewish girls), for you there is an additional—and essential—point: you are descended from a chassidic family, so your affairs must be infused with chassidic light and warmth. Your responsibility is also greater because people attribute any undesirable matter also to chassidic upbringing. On the other hand, do not worry or fear this responsibility since Hashem only asks according to our strength; everyone has been given enough ability to fulfill their unique mission.
With blessing for good news in all of the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that challenges should be seen in proper perspective; by focusing on personal growth and one's higher purpose—and trusting that Hashem gives us strength—we can overcome difficulties calmly and constructively.
