I received your pidyon nefesh in due time, and when I was on the day of the hilulah at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I read it there.

Certainly it is unnecessary to ask you—regarding several of Anash who have come from overseas and for whom the Joint has arranged a place of residence in Philadelphia—that you should help them as much as possible. Likewise, you should endeavor and continue (get involved in this) with your friends and acquaintances who can benefit those mentioned above in their proper settlement. As our Sages say: "We only urge those who are already diligent," so I am writing these lines to your honor and also requesting that you increase your efforts in this matter.
