Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was pleased to hear regards from the emissaries, Haraha"g and Haraha"ch iy"a, who are involved in tzt"z with faith, etc., Moreinu HaRav Shmuel Levitin and Moreinu HaRav Eliyahu Simpson, especially that they parted from each other after a gathering of brotherly love. In such a case, the separation is only physical and therefore not real. As explained in several letters of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, regarding thought—that neither place nor even time interrupts. Moreover, thought has the power to transfer, elevate, and uplift a person to a place and time where he has never been physically.

This is based on the Baal Shem Tov's answer to the question posed about the verse 'Serafim omdim mi'maal lo' (the seraphim stand above Him), which asks how it is possible for angels to stand above Adnai who sits upon a high and exalted throne since the world of angels is below the world of the throne—as explained in many places in both Kabbalah and Chassidus as well as philosophical works. The Baal Shem Tov explained that wherever one's will is found, there he is present (and the seraphim are so named because they burn with love and desire to be included in and ascend even higher than the world of the throne as well).

I hope that you will also hold gatherings on one (and perhaps more than one) of the upcoming days of Chanukah. May it be G‑d's will that it be successful...

Summary

True separation does not exist when there is unity through Ahavas Yisrael; thought can transcend physical distance. The Rebbe encourages continued gatherings to strengthen this spiritual connection.
