בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מער"ח כסלו... ובמענה על שאלתו בהמשך דר"ה תש"ג ההולך ונדפס עתה, מה שמחלקים שם כמה בחי' רצון למע', והוקשה לו דאיך יתאים זה עם החלטה המקובלה בכ"מ שהוא פשוט בתכלית הפשיטות וכו'.
הנה מבואר ענין זה בכ"מ, כי נקודת השאלה היא לאחר שפשוט הוא בתכלית הפשיטות, איך אפשר התהוות הריבוי בעולם, והובאו השיטות והתירוצים בזה בדרוש הצ"צ הנק' שלש שיטות (נדפס בסוף ס' דרך מצותיך חלק ב'), וכיון שאיני יודע אם נמצא אצל כת"ר שי' הנני מעתיק פה שמות איזה מהספרים שמובא שם, והם: ספר החייט פרק שלישי, פרדס שער ד' פרק ד', עבודת הקדש חלק א' פרק ב', ועיין ג"כ לקו"ת לג' פרשיות ל"ה סוף ע"א, ובכמה מקומות בדא"ח, ובכ"א הבחי' בהמדריגות המבוארות בבחי' הרצון בהמשך הנ"ל הוא מיוסד ע"מ שנתבאר בשער היחוד לאדמו"ר האמצעי ובכ"מ מדרושיו.

I received your letter in its time, from the eve of Rosh Chodesh Kislev... In response to your question regarding the discourse from Rosh Hashanah 5703 that is now being printed—where several levels of will Above are distinguished—and you were puzzled as to how this fits with the accepted conclusion everywhere that it is utterly simple, etc. This matter is explained in many places: the core of the question is that after it is established that it is utterly simple, how can there be multiplicity in the world? Various approaches and answers to this are brought in the discourse of tzt"z called 'Three Approaches' (printed at the end of Derech Mitzvosecha vol. II). Since I do not know if you have this text, I am copying here some names of books cited there: Sefer HaChait chapter three; Pardes Shaar Daled chapter four; Avodas HaKodesh part one chapter two; also see Likkutei Torah on three parshiyos page 35 end side A; and in several places in Chassidus. In any case, the levels explained regarding will in that discourse are based on what is clarified in Shaar HaYichud by the Mitteler Rebbe and often in his discourses. Enclosed is the booklet just published, which you will surely find contains most of the topic since it is from the light within Torah.
