שנה זו היא שנת השלש עשרה לקיומו, בארצות הברית דאמריקה, של "מרכז הישיבות תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש", אשר עבודתו והתפתחותו כאן התחילה על ידיו ובפקודתו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע תיכף להתישבותו באמריקה בשנת ה'ש"ת.
ת"ל, ובזכות הוד כ"ק רבותינו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, הנה הזריעה והנטיעה של שדה וכרם זה עשו פרי בהצלחה אלקית מופלגה, וכהיום הרי הרבה מאות תלמידים, כן ירבו, מישיבות אלו מכהנים פאר בתור רבנים, ראשי מתיבתות וראשי ישיבות, שובי"ם ושאר משרות קודש בקהלות חשובות בישראל; וגם אלו מהתלמידים ומחונכי ישיבות תומכי-תמימים המתפרנסים באופן אחר - על משמרתם במשמרת הקודש הם עומדים, לעבוד, כל אחד לפי מעמדו ומצבו, בשדה הרבצת תורה ויראת שמים ולקחת חלק בראש בהעסקנות של חיזוק היהדות בכל מקומות מושבותיהם.
יחד עם הפרחת והגדלת המוסד גדלו ג"כ ההוצאות הכרוכות בכלכלתו לכל סעיפיו, ובעת האחרונה נתרבו החובות ועלו למעלה ראש עד שמזעזעים את קיומו של המוסד ומכבידים במאד את הנהלתו והתפתחותו.
עזרה ממשית נחוצה בהקדם האפשרי.
ביום ראשון לפרשת בא, שני בשבט הבע"ל, תתקיים אי"ה החגיגה השנתית של "מרכז הישיבות תומכי תמימים-ליובאוויטש", ואלי' עיני ההנהלה נשואות שתביא הכנסה חשובה ומסוימה בכדי להקל, על כל פנים במדה ידועה, את עול החובות ולתת את האפשריות לנהל עבודת המוסד להבא, בעזה"י.
והנני פונה בזה לכל חובבי ומוקירי תורה ומצוה בבקשה ודרישה לסייע ולעזור בכל האפשריות בהכנות להחגיגה השנתית, לבוא ולהשתתף בחגיגה זו ולתרום תרומת הקודש בלב נדיב וביד פתוחה, ולהשפיע גם על ידידיהם ומכיריהם בכיוון זה,
וכבר מובטחים אנו מחז"ל, אשר גדולה זכות החזקת לומדי תורת חיים, דברי אלקים חיים, מקור חיים - להגן על כל העושים והמעשים ושיתברכו בכל מילי דמיטב, בבני חיי ומזוני רויחי.
בברכה שימלאו משאלות לבבם לטובה ונזכה כולנו לראות בהרמת קרן התורה וקרן ישראל סבא ולגאולה קרובה אמיתית ושלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו.

This year marks the thirteenth year since the establishment in the United States of America of the "Central Yeshivos Tomchei Temimim - Lubavitch," whose work and development here began through and by the directive of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, immediately upon his settling in America in 5700 (1940). Thank G‑d, and in the merit of our holy Rebbes zatzal, the planting and sowing of this field and vineyard have borne fruit with extraordinary Divine success. Today, many hundreds of students—may they increase—of these yeshivos serve with distinction as rabbis, heads of yeshiva high schools and yeshivos, shochatim and other sacred positions in important Jewish communities; even those students and alumni who earn their livelihood otherwise remain steadfast at their sacred post—to work, each according to his status and situation—in spreading Torah and fear of Heaven, taking a leading role in strengthening Judaism wherever they reside.
Along with the flourishing and growth of the institution have also grown its expenses for all its branches. Recently, debts have increased greatly to a point that threatens the institution's existence and severely burdens its management and development. Substantial help is urgently needed.
On Sunday of Parshas Bo, 2 Shevat upcoming G‑d willing, the annual celebration of "Central Yeshivos Tomchei Temimim-Lubavitch" will take place. The eyes of the administration are turned toward it bringing significant income to ease—at least to some extent—the burden of debt and enable future operation with G‑d's help.
I therefore turn to all lovers and supporters of Torah and mitzvos with a request and appeal: assist in every possible way with preparations for this annual celebration; come participate in this event; donate generously from an open heart; influence your friends and acquaintances likewise. Our Sages already assure us that great is the merit of supporting those who study Toras Chaim (the living Torah), words of Elokim Chaim (the living G‑d), source of life—to protect all who act and support it so that they be blessed with all good things: children, life, abundant sustenance.
With blessings that your heart's desires be fulfilled for good, may we all merit to see the raising up of Torah's prestige and that of Israel our ancestor—and a true complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
