במענה על מכתבו, בו מודיע שנגש לבנות לו בית, הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שיהי' בהצלחה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד בשבילו, בשביל ב"ב יחיו בכל הפרטים, ובאשר מבואר בתורת החסידות בכמה מקומות בביאור (שלשת הענינים דמזון לבוש ו)בית שזהו הענין דתומ"צ הבאים בדרך מקיף דמקיף, יעויין בתו"א בתחלתו בהענין דאיזה בית אשר תבנו לי וכן בלקו"ת לג"פ שם, לקו"ת ס"פ ברכה, בההמשך דמים רבים-תרל"ו בסופו ובכ"מ, הרי במילא מובן מזה שלבנין הבית בגשמיות, נחוץ במאד שיוסיף אומץ בענין בית ברוחניות, היינו בלימוד פנימיות התורה ובהענינים השייכים לעבודת התפלה, והא בהא תליא או יותר נכון לאחד גשמיות ורוחניות, אחד ממש, וכידוע הפירוש דישראל נק' גוי אחד בארץ (עיין אגרת הקדש סימן ט').
בשאלתו בענין בנו... שי', הנה נכונה מחשבתו לחכות בלימודים חיצונים עד שתהי' לו הבנה מלאה בגפ"ת.

In response to your letter, in which you inform me that you are beginning to build a home: May it be the will of Hashem that it be with success both materially and spiritually together—for you, for your family members, may they live, in all details. As explained in Chassidus in several places regarding (the three matters of food, clothing, and) home—that this is the concept of Torah and mitzvos that come in the manner of makif d’makif (an encompassing level upon an encompassing level)—see Torah Ohr at its beginning on the matter of "Eizeh Bayis Asher Tivnu Li" (What house will you build for Me), as well as Likkutei Torah on Parshas Bamidbar there, Likkutei Torah at the end of Parshas Berachah, in the hemshech Mayim Rabim 5636 at its end and elsewhere. From this it is understood that for building a physical home it is very necessary to strengthen oneself greatly in building a spiritual home—that is, in studying the inner dimension of Torah and matters related to avodah of prayer—and one depends on the other; or more accurately, to unite materiality and spirituality as truly one. As is known from the explanation that Yisrael are called "goy echad ba’aretz" (one nation on earth) (see Iggeres HaKodesh section 9).
Regarding your question about your son... shiyichyeh: Your thought is correct to wait with secular studies until he has full understanding in Gemara with Rashi and Tosafos.
