Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 13th of Cheshvan in which you write about the state of the yeshivah, I am very distressed that your numbers are not increasing with students. It is impossible that with proper effort and energetic searching you would not find in your city and its surroundings attentive students who would enter your yeshivah. It is well known everywhere in the words of our Sages that even for one child one must make many efforts, especially for several children. None of us knows how far this can go, as told in Shas—Yevamos 62: "for you do not know which will succeed," and in Bava Basra 91a: "one out of sixty is diligent." Surely everyone will devise together how to approach this outreach work, and may Hashem grant you success.

Regarding what you wrote in your letter about dismantling an oven, having heard there is a letter from my revered father-in-law the Rebbe (the Rebbe Maharash) of blessed memory about this matter: enclosed is a copy of this letter found in the booklet named after my revered father-in-law above. Apparently from its content—even though it was printed from the tzt"z (in Sefer Tzror HaChaim p. 30 – Bilgoray 1913).
