זה זמן רב שלא הגיעתני ממנו כל ידיעה ואתענין לדעת מהתקדמות עבודת ההעתקה של הבית רבי אשר מהראוי הוא שהי' - אם באפשרי הוא - שיצא מבית הדפוס לי"ט כסלו הבע"ל, כמובן אם ע"י הזירוז בזה לא תהי' מגרעת בטיב עבודת ההעתקה, ומפני כמה טעמים נכון הי' להדפיסו כאן, וכיון שגם הילוך הדואר משם לכאן נמשך לפ"ע, הרי לכאורה כבר הזמן קצר, ובטח יודיע בפרטיות מהמצב בזה.
כן בטח במשך זמן זה נדפסו כמה ענינים בהמכ"ע על ידו, וישלח לכאן קטעי המכ"ע וכפי המדובר בזה זה מכבר,

It has been a long time since I have received any information from you, and I am interested to know about the progress of the work on transferring the Beis Rabbi manuscript. It would be appropriate—if possible—that it should be ready to go to print by Yud-Tes Kislev, provided that speeding up the process does not compromise the quality of the transcription. For several reasons, it would be preferable to print it here; and since postal delivery from there to here takes time as well, it seems that time is already short. Surely you will inform me in detail about the current status.
Likewise, during this period you have surely published several items in the newspapers; please send clippings of these articles here, as we discussed some time ago.
