נודעתי ע"י אחיו הרר"י שי' אשר נולדה לו בת ואח"כ אשר נקרא שמה בישראל רחל ואשלח בזה תודתי על שנתקבלה הצעתי, וברכותי שיגדלוה לתורה לחופה ולמע"ט מתוך הרחבה בגו"ר.
ולסיים בד"ת שמא מילתא היא וכתב ביונת אלם פ"ה ויי אור בגימ' רחל, ויש לבאר עפמ"ש בתורה אור רד"ה ותוסף אסתר כנס"י נקראת בשם בחינת רחל כשהיא בבחי' התגלות וכך הוא בכל או"א מישראל שיהא רצונו להבטל ולהכלל באורו ית' והוא בהתגלות ובהתלהבות.
והנה בבנ"י כל דבר צ"ל ע"י עבודה ויתרון האור מן החושך דוקא כידוע. ובזה יובן מרז"ל ב"ר פ"ג, ה' ויהי אור כנגד ספר ואלה שמות שבו יצאו ישראל מאפילה לאורה ואכמ"ל.

I learned through his brother Harav Yaakov that a daughter was born to him, and afterwards that she was named in Israel Rachel. I hereby send my thanks for accepting my suggestion, and my blessings that you should raise her to Torah, to marriage, and to good deeds with abundance in revealed and open good.
To conclude with words of Torah, as perhaps it is significant: It is written in Yonat Elem (chapter 5) that 'Vayehi Or' (And there was light) has the same gematria as Rachel. This can be explained according to what is written in Torah Or on the verse 'Vatosaf Esther'—that Knesset Yisrael is called by the name Rachel when she is in a state of revelation. So it is with every man and woman of Israel: their desire should be to nullify themselves and be included in His light, may He be blessed—and this should be with revelation and enthusiasm.
In Bnei Yisrael everything must come through avodah (service), and specifically 'the advantage of light comes from darkness,' as is known. With this we can understand what our Sages said (Bereishis Rabbah ch. 3:5): 'And there was light' corresponds to the book of Shemos, in which Israel went from darkness to light—and this is not the place to elaborate.
