א) בקשה להודיעני מה נעשה בדבר ההשתדלות לוויזה בשביל מר קלוווגאנט שי' אם קרובו מר לעוואוט משתדל בזה, ואם לפי ראיית כת"ר הדבר צריך זריזות יראה לזרז אותו.
ב) מוסג"פ מכתבי מאמי מורתי הרבנית תחי' בשביל מר לעוואוט והיות שאין ידוע לי מהותו, לפיכך יראה בעצמו איך לעשות, אם למסור לו המכתב בידו, או רק להודיעו את הראשי פרקים של המכתב, והמכתב להחזיר לי.
ג) בטח ימלא בהקדם בקשתנו במכ' ה' מנ"א.
ואסיים בפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א: הצום נדחה ויה"ר שיהי' נדחה כליל.
ויש להעיר ממעלת גדר הותרה על דחוי' ויעויין ב' גדרים בדחוי' שו"ע רבנו ס' שכח סי"ג וב' גדרים בהותרה יומא ו, ב.
ולע"ל יהי' מעלה עוד יותר שיהפך לששון ולשמחה.

a) Please inform me what has happened regarding the efforts for a visa for Mr. Kalwogant, may he live—whether his relative Mr. Lavout is working on this matter; and if in your opinion the matter requires urgency, see to it that he is encouraged to act swiftly.
b) Enclosed is my letter from my mother, the Rebbetzin, may she live, for Mr. Lavout. Since I do not know his character well, you should decide how to proceed: whether to give him the letter directly or only inform him of its main points and return the letter to me.
c) Certainly you will promptly fulfill our request in my letter from the fifth of Menachem Av.
I will conclude with a saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita: The fast is postponed—and may it be G-d's will that it be entirely nullified. One should note the advantage of 'permitted' over 'postponed'; see two categories of postponement in Shulchan Aruch HaRav section 388:13 and two categories of permission in Yoma 6b. In the future there will be an even greater advantage—that it will be transformed into joy and gladness.
