Shalom u'Vrachah!

With joy I inform you that the book Toldos Admor Maharash n"a has already come out of the press—the book for which you took upon yourself the printing expenses. And merit is brought about on a meritorious day, as the book was brought on the 12th of Tammuz, which is the festival of redemption of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, on the day marking twenty years since his liberation. On that very day I brought it to my father-in-law, the Rebbe admu”sh.

It is mentioned in this book (p. 71) that Admor HaZaken said that Shmuel means Shemo-Kel (see Shlah, beginning of Parshas Toldos and Chida’s notes to Zohar II:148b; both printed in Zohar Vilna with some differences). Perhaps one can explain this according to what was said by the one who bore this name himself—Admor Maharash n"a (in Hemshech Vekacha 5637, end)—on our Sages’ statement: "The Holy One called Yaakov 'Kel', meaning he tasted something of Olam HaBa (the World to Come), which in time to come will inherit him 310 worlds, and a 'tithe' of this is 'Kel'." (And perhaps this is why Admor Maharash n"a was wealthy even materially, though generally when tzaddikim seek to dwell in tranquility in this world, Satan accuses them that their portion is reserved for Olam HaBa—see Bereshis Rabbah at beginning of Parshas Vayechi; this is also the simple meaning of "they tasted something of Olam HaBa," Bava Basra end.)

The great merit in publicizing this book certainly needs no explanation for you and your peers. I only wish to emphasize what occurred—with Divine Providence—that it was completed on the day of redemption and birthday (when one's mazal dominates—Yerushalmi Rosh Hashanah ch.3 halachah 8) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita.

May it be G-d’s will that all blessings from my father-in-law, whether received face-to-face or in writing during his stay here, be fulfilled for you.
