Thank G-d we arrived here safely. At the appropriate time I telegraphed about this to the address on Yves Kermes Street, and it is surprising that the telegram was returned, with the claim that there is no such street in their camp!

a) As expected, I conveyed regards to my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, regarding matters related to the committee. However, for over a week now we have been waiting to receive the list as well as your letter informing us about the committee and its good activities, and so far there is nothing! If this is how things are at the beginning, "what will be" when time passes? I am confident that you will not delay your letter further and will promptly inform us about your current activities, about expanding the committee's work beyond just Lubavitch circles as discussed before my trip (which is a primary matter both materially and spiritually), and your future work plans. Enclosed here is a letter related to the committee.

b) Enclosed here is a sample questionnaire for writing letters in the Sefer Torah for greeting Moshiach. All who wish to participate — themselves and their families — should prepare a general list answering all questions and indicating their participation amount (as already stated, this is only so that everyone has a share in expenses; anyone wishing to add more may do so via the committee fund), and you will later be informed which letters were assigned to them.

c) Also enclosed is a sample for joining an oral Mishnayos society with some relevant letters; if you make a list of those wishing to join, lots will also be drawn for them and you will be notified of their portions. Rabbi Friedman from synagogue 25 requested that members of his synagogue also be included in this group; surely you will now ask him about this and encourage expanding this activity.

d) Enclosed here is a sample for establishing or expanding Tehillim societies; those wishing to join should submit their names etc., as explained in the sample. In volume two of my father-in-law's collected letters are found several of his letters regarding gimmel; dalet. These are being sent to you now separately.

e) A package of our printed materials has been sent to you. Please send a list via Mr. Melach from what I gave you before my trip so we know what to send next promptly.

Regarding all these matters above, you can write either directly or through any of these institutions separately or under my name. The main thing is that these matters move from potential into action. As explained by Admor HaZaken (Iggeres HaKodesh sec. 21) about the necessity of alacrity in these matters: he emphasizes twice "in this world," which hints at the effect and virtue of charity specifically — drawing down light and blessing into this physical world as explained in Iggeres HaKodesh sec. 3 and elsewhere. Based on this, we can also understand why it concludes "for man is judged every day," which also relates specifically to charity as explained elsewhere (Rosh Hashanah), Chanoch LaNa'ar (at its end), Kuntres U'Maayan from page 19 onward — that daily judgment relates specifically to drawing down into this world.

The letter was delayed until Monday, and just now your letter arrived with the committee's list attached.
