אמר הכתוב כי האדם עץ השדה, ורואים אנו אשר שינוי איזה שהוא, אפילו קל, בגרעין, משנה את האילן הצומח מהגרעין מן הקצה אל הקצה, וכן הוא בחנוך הילד, ולכן אפילו בשביל הטבה קלה בחינוכו כדאי להשתדל ולהשתדל, וכ"ש אם החינוך דורש תיקון בענינים עיקרים העלולים להשפיע על הילד במשך כל ימי חייו.
וחזקה לתעמולה ופעולה הנעשית באמת שאינן חוזרות ריקם.

The verse says that man is like a tree of the field, and we see that even a slight change in a seed can alter the tree that grows from it completely; so it is with a child's education. Therefore, even for a small improvement in his education it is worthwhile to strive repeatedly—how much more so if the education requires correction in fundamental matters that can affect the child throughout his life. It is certain that sincere advocacy and action do not return empty-handed.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that every effort in education has lasting effects—just as a small change in a seed transforms an entire tree, so too does even minor improvement in chinuch shape a child's future. He urges us to support chinuch personally and inspire others as well.
