מיט שמחה וילען מיר אייך אנזאגען, אז ניט געקוקט אויף די גרויסע שוועריקייטען וואס עס זיינען געווען די לעצטע צייט אין צוזאמענהאנג מיט דעם שטרייק, די אומעגליכקייט צו באקומען פאפיר א.א.וו., איז אונז דאך געלונגען אפצודרוקען די סידורים פאר אונזערע ברידער אין אייראפא, אין וואס איר האט גענומען אנטייל דורך נעמען אויף זיך די קאסטען פון דער ערשטער אויסגאבע.
אין א באזונדער פאקעט האבען מיר אייך געשיקט אייניגע סדורים און די טעג גייט אוועק די ערשטע פארטיי סדורים צו די אידישע לאגערען אין אייראפא.
עס איז איבעריק צו מאריך זיין וועגען דער גרויסער מצוה וואס איר האט געטאן דורך לאזען אפדרוקען סדורים פאר אונזערע מארטירער ברידער. שטעלט זיך נאר פאר אז אייניגע מאל א טאג - צום דאוונען, עסען, זאגען ברכות וכו' - וועלען זיי זיך בענוצען מיט דעם סדור און דערביי טראכטען אז זיי דארפען דאנקען א אידען צדוק ריווקין אין ווייטען ניו-יארק, וואס ער האט זיי געגעבען די מעגליכקייט צו דאוונען און מתפלל זיין פאר'ן אויבערשטען לויט ווי זיי, זייערע עלטערען און זיידעס זיינען געוואנט געווען (אחוץ דעם וואס אין מערערע ערטער לערנט מען אויך אין חדרים פון סדורים מיט צענדליגער קינדער).
די גמרא (בבא קמא צב, עמוד ב) טייטש דעם פסוק (שמות כג, כה) ועבדתם את ד' אלקיכם, איר זאלט דינען דעם אויבערשטען, אז דאס הייסט דינען דורך דאוונען, דורך קריאת שמע און תפלה.
מיר ווינטשען אייך אז דער זכות וואס איר האט געגעבען טויזענטער אידען די מעגליכקייט דינען דעם אויבערשטען זאל אייך ביישטיין אז בא אייך זאל מקוים ווערען די פארטזעצונג פון דעם דערמאנטען פסוק: וברך את לחמך ואת מימיך והסירותי מחלה מקרבך גו' את מספר ימיך אמלא - איר זאלט זיין געזונד און האבען א גליקליכען עלטער מיט אן אריכות ימים ושנים טובות.

With joy we inform you that despite the great difficulties recently connected with the strike and the impossibility of obtaining paper, etc., we have nevertheless succeeded in printing the siddurim for our brothers in Europe, in which you participated by taking upon yourself the costs of the first edition. In a separate package we have sent you several siddurim, and in the coming days the first batch of siddurim will be sent to the Jewish camps in Europe.
It is unnecessary to elaborate on the great mitzvah you have performed by enabling the printing of siddurim for our martyred brothers. Just imagine that several times a day—for prayer, eating, reciting blessings, etc.—they will use this siddur and think that they must thank a Jew, Tzadok Rivkin in distant New York, who gave them the opportunity to pray to the Almighty as they, their parents, and grandparents were accustomed (besides which in many places children also learn from these siddurim in cheder).
The Gemara (Bava Kama 92b) interprets the verse (Shemot 23:25) 'Va'avadtem et Hashem Elokeichem' ('You shall serve Hashem your G-d'), that this means serving through prayer—through reciting Shema and tefillah.
We bless you that the merit of giving thousands of Jews the opportunity to serve Hashem should stand by you so that for you will be fulfilled the continuation of this mentioned verse: 'Uveirach et lachmecha ve'et meimecha ve'hasiroti machalah mikirbecha... et mispar yamecha amalei' ('And He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove illness from your midst... I will fulfill the number of your days')—may you be healthy and have a happy old age with long good years.
