במענה על מכתבו - שכותב עליו יו"ד סיון אבל נתקבל רק היום - בו כותב ע"ד מצב בריאותו ואשר כמה מהרופאים ייעצו לו לעשות נתוח להשבר משני הצדדים, שסובל מזה כמה שנים:
הנה לדעתי כיון שזהו עצת רופאים מומחים במקצוע זה, נכון הדבר, אלא שכדאי לעשות לאחר ימי הקיץ ולא בימי החום,
והשי"ת יוליכהו בדרך הישרה ויזכהו להחדיר בתלמידיו רוח יראת שמים ולהאירם בנר מצוה ותורה אור כפי שהם מוארים בתורת החסידות וזכות אבותיו מסייעתו וכל זה ישמש ג"כ לצנור וכלי נוספים להמשכת וקבלת תוספת ברכת השי"ת בכל המצטרך לו.

In response to your letter—which you wrote on the 10th of Sivan but was only received today—in which you describe your health situation and that several doctors have advised you to undergo surgery for a fracture on both sides, from which you have suffered for several years: In my opinion, since this is the advice of expert doctors in this field, it is appropriate to proceed. However, it is advisable to do so after the summer days and not during the heat. May Hashem lead you on the right path and grant you success in instilling in your students a spirit of awe of Heaven and illuminating them with the candle of mitzvah and Torah light as they are illuminated in Chassidus. The merit of your ancestors will assist you, and all this will also serve as an additional channel and vessel for drawing down and receiving increased blessings from Hashem in all that you need.
