זה עתה קבלתי מכתבו מעש"ק, וכנראה שעוד הפעם נפל ברוחו וכו'! ולמה לו להחליש את מעמדו ומצבו על ידי המצאות כמה מיני מחשבות וסברות שלא לטוב ח"ו! זה כמה פעמים עוררתיו עד"ז וכנראה שעדיין לא הגיעו, וכפי הפירוש בלקו"ת פ' שמיני בתחלתה, ניט אנגערירט.
חזק יהי' בבטחונו שיהי' גביר ולא מופרך הדבר אשר מפאת הבלתי סדרים שאצלו איז ער שוין א גביר, והוא אינו יודע עד"ז, ובכל זאת בטח יבוא הדבר בעתו ובזמנו, ובלבד שיקבל עליו תוכן פתגם כ"ק רבינו הזקן ששמענו מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אז הקב"ה גיט אידן גשמיות און זיי מאכן פון גשמיות רוחניות, ובנוגע בפרט לנסיעתו זו, הנה לא יסיח דעתו מצד הרוחני שבה, היינו מה שבקשתיו בענין בקור והתועדות חסידותית...

I have just received your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh, and it seems that once again you have become discouraged, etc.! Why should you weaken your position and situation by entertaining various kinds of thoughts and ideas that are not for the good, G‑d forbid! I have already pointed this out to you several times, and apparently it still has not reached you—as explained at the beginning of Likkutei Torah Parshas Shemini: "nit angerirt" (not touched).
He should be strong in his bitachon (trust) that he will become a wealthy person, and it is not unreasonable to think so; due to the lack of order in his life, he is already a wealthy person—he just does not realize it yet. Nevertheless, the matter will certainly come in its proper time and season, provided he accepts upon himself the content of the saying of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe which we heard from my father-in-law the Rebbe: "Hashem gives Jews materiality and they make from materiality spirituality." Specifically regarding this trip of his—he should not lose focus on its spiritual aspect, namely what I requested of him regarding visiting and holding a chassidic gathering...

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that one should maintain strong trust in G‑d even when circumstances seem disordered. Material blessings are already present or forthcoming; our task is to transform them into spiritual achievements through faith and action.
