נהניתי לקרות עד"ז וכידוע עד כמה שהפליגו והפליאו נשיאינו רבוה"ק זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע במעלת הרגש - געפיל - אשר זהו העיקר, וזהו ג"כ הסימן פון א חסיד, שיש לו ההרגש באהבת השם אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל, ויזכהו השי"ת להיות חזק בזה וללכת מחיל אל חיל הן בעניני ההרגש והן בענינים דהבנה והשגה בתורת הנגלה ובתורת הדא"ח...

In response to your letter from the 8th of Tammuz, in which you write that you feel the holiday of Yud-Beis and Yud-Gimmel Tammuz. I was pleased to read this, as it is well known how much our Rebbeim, our holy leaders of blessed memory, have emphasized and praised the quality of feeling—gefil—which is the main thing. This is also the sign of a chassid: that he possesses a feeling for love of Hashem, love of Torah, and love of Israel. May Hashem grant you strength in this, to go from strength to strength both in matters of feeling and in matters of understanding and comprehension in both revealed Torah and Chassidus... Enclosed is the list that was published for the days of redemption and merit—Yud-Beis and Yud-Gimmel Tammuz—that have passed, and surely you will merit to share it with the many.
