בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מא' בהעלותך, ויתן השי"ת אשר להבא יוכל לבשר בשו"ט בכל הענינים, ובטח יודיע ממצב מר... מזמן לזמן.
בקשר עם חג הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל הו"ל קונטרס ורשימה, ומסג"פ, ובטח כת"ר שי' ישתמש בהם לא רק בשבילו אלא גם להאיר את סביבתו באור תורה ומאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות דרכי' והנהגותי'.
ואין לתמוה על מה שדורשים מאת כל אחד מאתנו העבודה בשני הקצוות, הן להשפיע בענינים פשוטים ביותר, וכמו שמירת שבת, אכילת כשר, נשואי תערובות וכו', וכן ע"ד ענינים נעלים ביותר וכמו הפצת תורת החסידות, כי בזמננו זה עקבתא דעקבתא דמשיחא, הנה ידוע המשל המובא בתורת החסידות, אשר מדרכי הרפואה יש אשר כדי לרפאות את הראש מקיזים דם בהרגל, והנמשל מובן, ובפרט אשר רואים גם בעיני בשר התעוררות בזמננו זה גם בי[ן] הנוער, החלק ממנו שהי' רחוק לגמרי עד עתה מיהדות, שמחפשים הם בחפוש אחר חפוש אחרי האמת, מצד שנכזבו בשאר האידעאלין וכו' שדברו עמהם עד עתה, ובמילא יש לנצל - אוסניצען - התעוררות זו, אשר בזה תהי' תועלת בשנים, הן בסור מרע והן בועשה טוב, וכידוע מרז"ל שבת קנ"ו ע"א, האי מאן דבמאדים, יהא גבר אשיד דמא א"ר אשי אי אומנא אי גנבא אי טבחא אי מוהלא, אשר במילא כשמסייעים אותו להמשך לאומנות מוהלא, הרי מצילים אותו מהאופן אחר וכו', ועד"ז הוא בנדון דידן.

In due time I received your letter from the first of Beha'aloscha, and may Hashem grant that in the future you will be able to report good news in all matters, and certainly you will inform [me] of your situation from time to time.
In connection with the upcoming Festival of Redemption, the 12th and 13th of Tammuz, a kuntres and a note have been published and are enclosed. Surely you will use them not only for yourself but also to illuminate your surroundings with the light of Torah and the luminary within Torah—this is the Torah of Chassidus, its ways and conduct.
One should not wonder why each of us is asked to work on both extremes: to influence even in the simplest matters such as Shabbos observance, eating kosher, avoiding intermarriage, etc., as well as in the loftiest matters like spreading Chassidus. For in our times—Ikvesa d'Ikvesa d'Moshiach—it is known from a parable brought in Chassidus that sometimes to heal the head one must draw blood from the foot; the analogy is clear. Especially since we see with our own eyes an awakening in our times even among youth who were previously completely distant from Judaism—they search again and again for truth because they have been disappointed by other ideals that were presented to them until now.
Therefore, this awakening should be utilized—for there will be benefit in both turning away from evil and doing good. As our Sages say (Shabbos 156a): "He who is born under Mars will be a shedder of blood." Rav Ashi said: "Either a surgeon or a thief or a slaughterer or a mohel." Thus, when one helps him become a mohel (circumciser), he is saved from other paths. The same applies here.
