במענה על מכתבו מכ"ג סיון, אשר מבקש תקנה על ח"נ, הנה זה מכבר הודעתי שראשונה לכל צריך להסיח דעת מזה ולהרבות באותיות התורה והתפלה (כמובן מבלי לבלבל את סדרי הישיבה, אשר ידוע עד כמה הקפידו אבותינו רבוה"ק אשר כל אברך הלומד בישיבה צריך להתנהג מתאים להסדרים אשר בה, ולא להנהיג ענינים משלו המפריעים בזה) וכן להקדיש איזה שעות בשבוע להשפיע ולפעול בחינוך הכשר, מתאים לתנאי הזמן והמקום, ובטח כאשר יתייעץ בזה עם הר"מ ור"י שלו, ימצא אופן המתאים לזה והשי"ת יצליחו בתלמוד תורה ביראת שמים,

In response to your letter from the 23rd of Sivan, in which you seek a rectification for Chanan: I have already stated that first and foremost, one must divert their attention from this and increase in the letters of Torah and prayer (of course, without disrupting the order of the yeshiva; it is well known how much our holy ancestors were particular that every Avrech studying in yeshiva must conduct himself according to its regulations and not introduce personal practices that interfere with this). Additionally, dedicate some hours each week to positively influence and act in proper education, suited to the conditions of the time and place. Surely, when you consult with your mashpia and rosh yeshiva on this matter, you will find a suitable way to do so. May Hashem grant you success in Torah study with fear of Heaven. With blessing.
