נעים לי לשמוע מהרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוה"ר גבריאל זלקינד שי' כגן אשר יש לו קביעות עתים בגפ"ת ובטח משתתף הוא ג"כ בשיעור לימוד המתאים הנלמד ברבים אבל כמובן שאין זה מספיק כלל וכלל וכפי השקו"ט בש"ס ונפסק בשו"ע הלכות תלמוד תורה ובפרט בשו"ע לרבינו הזקן הל' ת"ת, אשר פרק א' שחרית ופרק א' ערבית הרי זה סדר רק בשביל אלו שע"פ תורה מוכרחים הם למצוא פרנסתם באופן כזה שצריכים להקדיש ע"ז כמה שעות ביום, משא"כ אלו שאין מוכרחים בזה הברירה בידם ולפעמים תכופות ביותר הרי אין ברירה בידם, ומחוייבים הם להתעסק בלימוד התורה ולהסתפק בעסק במילי דעלמא רק שעות קצרות ועל פי רוב הנה ההכרע לאיזה סוג שייכים צריכה להיות דוקא ע"י אחרים ולא ע"י עצמו, כיון שאז הרי נוגע בדבר והקלוגינקער מוצא לו כמה דרכים ופתויים איך להסית את האדם מדרך העולה מבית אל. כיון שאיני מכירו וגם איני יודע בפרטיות אופן לימודו ומשך זמן הלימוד ואופן עסקו ומשך זמן שמשקיע בעסק, הרי צריך הוא להתייעץ עם זקני אנ"ש אשר במחנו המכירים אותו ע"ד חלוק זמנו בעניני תורה ויראת שמים ובעני[ני] דרך ארץ, וכהוראתם יעשה והשי"ת יצליחו למצוא דרך הנכונה לפניו ולעלות בעילוי אחר עילוי כפסק תורתנו הקדושה מעלין בקדש.

I am pleased to hear that Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"n is involved in tzt"z etc. Moreinu HaRav Gavriel Zalkind, like a garden that has set times for learning Gemara, Peirush Rashi, and Tosafos, and surely also participates in the appropriate public study session. But of course, this is not at all sufficient, as discussed in Shas and ruled in Shulchan Aruch, Hilchos Talmud Torah—especially in Shulchan Aruch of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, Hilchos Talmud Torah—that one chapter in the morning and one chapter in the evening is only the order for those who according to Torah are compelled to find their livelihood in such a way that they must dedicate several hours a day to it. However, for those who are not compelled by this necessity and often do have a choice, they are obligated to engage primarily in Torah study and limit their involvement with worldly matters to only short periods. Usually, the decision as to which category one belongs should be made specifically by others and not by oneself, since one is biased and the clever inclination finds many ways and enticements to divert a person from the upward path from Beis El.
Since I do not know you personally nor am I aware of your particular manner of study or how much time you devote to it versus your business activities, you should consult with elder Anash in our camp who know you regarding how you divide your time between Torah matters, fear of Heaven, and derech eretz. You should act according to their guidance. May Hashem grant you success in finding the proper path before you and ascending from strength to strength as our holy Torah rules: "Ma'alin b'kodesh" (we ascend in holiness).

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that while earning a livelihood is necessary for some, Torah study must remain central whenever possible. One should seek guidance from trusted elders when unsure how to balance these priorities.
