במענה על שאלת רבים מהתלמידים שיחיו:
ידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר בברכה נאמר הלשון גשמי ברכה, וכמו שגשם מועיל רק אם יורד הוא על שדה חרושה וזרועה, כן הוא גם ענין הברכה שצ"ל מצד מקבל הברכה, חרישה וזריעה, אלא שאח"ז גם זריעה הקטנה לפ"ע, ממשכת ברכה והצלחה גדולה ומופלגה.
ובנוגע לבני תורה ותלמידי הישיבות, הנה החרישה היא שמירת סדרי הלימוד בדיוק בהישיבה, אף שלפעמים גורם זה מיעוט בשינה או באכילה ושתי', והעיקר היפך הרצון לעצלות ולאי התמדה-המתאימה ולאי שקידה, וזריעה - היינו לימוד בשקידה והתמדה המתאימה, וכשישנה הכנה זו, אזי ממשכת הברכה הצלחה והשכלה והבנה והשגה.
כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה, נבג"מ זי"ע, אזכירם להצלחה בתלמוד תורה ביראת שמים ובודאי הם מצדם יעשו. כהנ"ל.
בטח אומרים הם תהלים בכל יום לכה"פ כפי שנחלק לימי החדש וגם לומדים בכל יום עכ"פ איזה פסוקים מפרשת השבוע.
בברכת תלמוד תורה ביראת שמים בהצלחה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to the question from many of the students: It is known the saying of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, that in a blessing it is said "gashmei brachah" (rains of blessing), and just as rain is beneficial only if it falls on a plowed and seeded field, so too with blessing—there must be preparation on the part of the recipient: plowing and sowing. Afterwards, even a small sowing according to one's ability draws down great and extraordinary blessing and success.
Regarding bnei Torah and yeshivah students: plowing refers to keeping the study schedule precisely in yeshivah, even if this sometimes means less sleep or eating and drinking, and mainly overcoming laziness or lack of proper diligence. Sowing means studying with appropriate diligence and perseverance. When this preparation exists, it draws down blessing—success, knowledge, understanding, and comprehension.
When I am at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I will mention you for success in Torah study with awe of Heaven—and surely you will do your part as above.
Certainly you recite Tehillim every day at least as divided for the days of the month, and also learn at least some verses from the weekly parsha each day.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that blessings are most effective when met with personal preparation—diligence in Torah study and self-discipline. Just as rain benefits a prepared field, so too does spiritual success come to those who actively prepare themselves through learning and effort.
