In response to your letter from the second of Shelach, in which you inform me about your wife's health situation—when I am at the Ohel of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I will mention her and certainly arouse mercy on her behalf.

Surely she has received some instructions from the doctor and is following them. I am interested to know if, besides what you wrote regarding bitter salt and magnesium, you also know anything about treatments involving radiation or surgery. For although Hashem is the Healer of all flesh and performs wonders, nevertheless it is customary to have some connection with natural means, even if very minimal. As I once heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe: Once a very ill patient came to the Alter Rebbe (may no such thing happen), and he healed him with a piece of shmura matzah and half a glass of water—so we see that at least some connection with nature is necessary. May Hashem hear your prayers and requests, and may you be able to share good news.

You surely received my previous letter in due time. I am interested to know how your daughter managed with her husband the rabbi—whether he remained in his tent of Torah study, etc.
