איך בין געווען צופרידען צו לייענען אין אייער בריף, אז איר האט זיך טיף פאראינטערעסירט און אויך זיך באקענט מיט דעם מצב פון אחינו בני ישראל אין אה"ק ת"ו - וואס דאס איז דאך איינע פון די פאלגען פון אהבת ישראל "ייענעמס מצב זאל זיין זיך אמת נוגע".
עס וואלט געווען א שאדן אויב די ידיעות און איינדרוק וועלכע איר האט באקומען זאלן פארלארן גיין, מסתם האט איר עס פארשריבן, ווייניקסטנס ראשי פרקים פון דעם, אויב עס איז אזוי וואלט איך אייך דאנקבאר געווען ווען איר שיקט עס צו מיר (על מנת להחזיר).
על כל פנים, וואלט איך אייך בעטן צו ענטפערן מיר, אויב מעגליך, אויף פאלגענדע פראגן (וועלכע איך שטעל אין דער רייען ארדנונג פון די פונקטן וועלכע איר בריינגט אין אייער בריוו).
א) דער רושם פון אייער באזוך אין כפר חב"ד.
ב) דעם גייסט אין וועלכן עס לערנען תלמידים פון פארשידענע מוסדות חינוך.
ג) דאטן וועגען דער צאל קינדער וועלכע געפינען זיך אונטער דער השפעה פון די פארשידענע פארטייען.
ד) ידיעות וועגן דעם גייסטיקן לעבן אין די מעברות בכלל, און וועגן דעם חינוך דארטן בפרט.
ה) זיכער האט איר זיך אריינגעטראכט אין דער סדרה וואס מ'האט ערשט געלייענט, נעכטן פרי: (שלח יד, ח-ט) אם חפץ בנו הוי' והביא אותנו וגו' ונתנה לנו (און ער וועט זי אונז געבן, איז דאס דאמאלסט) ארץ אשר היא זבת חלב ודבש (אבער אן אייביגער תנאי איז דערביי) אך בהוי' אל תמרודו (און אז מ'האט געשריען - שם, פסוק מ-מב - הננו ועלינו ... ויאמר משה ... אל תעלו (און ווייסט איר פארוואס) כי אין הוי' בקרבכם).
און דאס איז דער הויפט פונקט וואס איך זוך אויסצוגעפינען וועגען דעם מצב דארט, האט איר די ידיעות וועגן דעם? ניט המצב בארץ כנען, אפילו ניט בארץ ישראל, נאר המצב בארץ הקדושה, וואס תבנה ותכונן במהרה בימינו ממש על ידי משיח צדקנו, אויב אידן וואו נאר זיי געפינען זיך, סיי אין גלות דא סיי אין גלות דארט, וועלן מקיים זיין דאס וואס משיח האט געזאגט אז ער קומט היום (אויב נאר) אם בקולי תשמעון (סנהדרין צח, א).

I was pleased to read in your letter that you have taken a deep interest and have also become acquainted with the situation of our brethren, the children of Israel, in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land)—which is indeed one of the outcomes of Ahavas Yisrael (love for a fellow Jew): "Another's situation should be truly important to oneself." It would be a loss if the information and impressions you have gained were to be lost; presumably you have written them down, at least as main points. If so, I would be grateful if you could send them to me (on condition they will be returned).
In any case, I would ask you to answer me, if possible, on the following questions (which I am listing in the order of the points you bring up in your letter): a) Your impression from your visit to Kfar Chabad; b) The spirit in which students from various educational institutions study; c) Data regarding the number of children who are under the influence of various parties; d) Information about spiritual life in the immigrant camps in general, and about education there in particular.
Surely you have reflected on the Torah portion that was just read yesterday morning: (Shelach 14:8-9) "Im chafetz banu Hashem v'hevi'anu... v'nasnah lanu" (If Hashem desires us, He will bring us... and give it to us—then it will happen), "Eretz asher hi zavat chalav u'dvash" (a land flowing with milk and honey). But there is always an eternal condition: "Ach baHashem al timrodu" (But do not rebel against Hashem). And when they cried out—there (verse 40-42)—'Hinenu va'alinu... Vayomer Moshe... Al ta'alu' (Here we are! We will go up... And Moshe said... Do not go up [and do you know why?] because Hashem is not among you). This is the main point I seek to find out about the situation there: do you have information about this? Not the situation in Eretz Canaan, nor even Eretz Yisrael—but rather the situation in Eretz HaKedoshah (the Holy Land), which will be rebuilt and established speedily in our days by Moshiach Tzidkeinu. Wherever Jews may be found—whether here in exile or there—they will fulfill what Moshiach said: that he comes today (if only) 'im b'koli tishma'un' (if you will listen to My voice) (Sanhedrin 98a).
