I was pleased to hear a greeting from you through Haraha"ch Haraha"g Havavac"h iy"a nu"n who is involved in tzt"z with faith etc., Moreinu HaRav Shlomo Zalman Hecht, and also to receive your contribution for tzedakah as per my intention; I distributed it as follows: three parcels for Kollel Chabad in Jerusalem, three parcels for the Yeshivah Toras Emes in Jerusalem, and three parcels for the Yeshivah Olei Russia in Lod. The remainder I deposited into the fund of the Central Office for the work being done in North Africa, about which you have surely heard from Haraha"g Hecht regarding this matter, and I will briefly inform you about it:

Two weeks before the passing of the Previous Rebbe zatzal, he said that kosher educational work needed to be started in North Africa, where there is a large Jewish community—may they increase—and many observant Jews who desire a proper education for their children. However, due to their great poverty, many are unable to provide this. In accordance with the wish of the Previous Rebbe zatzal, shortly after his passing a special emissary was sent to North Africa to become acquainted with the situation on site. Today, almost a year later, several yeshivos, small yeshivos, Talmud Torahs and cheders have been opened there for boys and girls. Thank G‑d everything is proceeding with great success; the children are very satisfied and are learning well and succeeding in their studies.

The only obstacle to expanding this educational work as needed is a lack of financial resources. The pain is even greater because living expenses there are low—a few dollars a month is enough to bring another child into kosher education. With every dollar contributed to the "Central Office," another Jewish child can be raised to strengthen his connection to Torah and mitzvos so that he will remain a true Jew his entire life.

I am interested to know whether you have a set time for Torah study and which books you learn from. Surely you observe the institution of the Previous Rebbe zatzal to recite the daily Tehillim after davening each day, bli neder.
