בין המוסדות הכי חשובים שייסד הוד כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, היו המרכז לעניני חנוך, מחנה ישראל וקהת יקרים לו במאד, וחיבה יתירה נודעת להם ממנו, בהתענינו בכל פרט ופרט מפעולותיהם וכל דבר וענין נעשה על פי הוראתו והסכמתו.
וגם בחדשים האחרונים הנה, בהתאם להוראות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ בהשבועות שלפני הסתלקותו, נתרחב חוג עבודת המוסדות האלו, והותחלה גם כן עבודה חדשה, היא עבודת החינוך באפריקא הצפונית, ההולכת וגדלה, ורואים בה במוחש איך ההצלחה שרוי' במעשי ידי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.
והנה למרות שחוג פעולת מוסדות הנ"ל על שדה החינוך, חיזוק היהדות, הצלה וכו' מקיף את כל שדרות אחב"י בכל מדינות תבל, אשר מובן שכ"ז קשור בהוצאות גדולות, לא סידרו עד עתה המוסדות הנ"ל מגביות פומביות, וכל עיקר יסוד הספקתם קיבלו על ידי הוד כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ.
מובן אשר מ[ע]ת הסתלקות הוד כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ נפסקה ההכנסה העיקרית של המוסדות הנ"ל וזה יותר מעשרה חדשים אשר סכנה גדולה מרחפת עליהם מפני חסרון האמצעים הכספיים.
השעה דורשת ב ת כ י פ ו ת מאת כל אחד ואחת מאתנו כולנו לזכור על דבר החוב והזכות הקדוש המוטל עלינו, והעיקר לעשות בפועל במילוי חובתנו זו, והוא להיות מן העושים והמעשים ככל יכלתנו להחזקת מוסדות אלו, אשר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ טיפחם ריבם והשקיע בהם מיטב כוחותיו, ות"ל ניכר כח האומן בכלי. ובפרט שאין ידי האומן מסולקות, ח"ו, מכלי זה. ומה עד כאן עומד ומנהל אף להלן עומד ומנהל.
אמר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ באחת משיחותיו, אשר לפעמים, כאשר דברו בענין פנימי ולבבי ביותר, השתמשו דוקא בלשון אידית. והביא לדוגמא מה שכותב אדמו"ר הזקן באגה"ק הוכח תוכיח את עמיתך: גוואלד גוואלד.
חייב אדם לומר בלשון רבו: גוואלד גוואלד, עד מתי אנו מחשים? במה נצטדק, ומה נענה על שאלת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ: הזאת היא השתתפותכם במעשי ידי ובעבודתי אשר עלי' מסרתי את נפשי?
מתאספים אתם בערב ראש-השנה-לחסידות, ויהי רצון אשר החלטותיכם הטובות ופעולותיכם הנמרצות במילוי ההחלטות - הפעולות על אתר והפעולות בעתיד הכי קרוב - יתנו לה"מרכז לעניני חינוך, מחנה ישראל, וקהת" את האפשריות למלאות תפקידם אשר התווה להם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ. ולא נבוש ולא נכלם, כי בצדק נוכל לומר: עשינו מה שדרשת מאתנו.

To all participants in the gathering to support the institutions Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch, Machne Israel, Kehot—the institutions founded by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal lehe nbagam ziya hk"m and under his presidency and leadership—may Hashem be upon them for life.

Among the most important institutions established by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, were Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch, Machne Israel, and Kehot. They were exceedingly precious to him, receiving special affection from him as he was involved in every detail of their activities; everything was done according to his instruction and agreement.
Even in recent months, following his directives during the weeks before his passing, these institutions have expanded their scope of work. A new initiative has also begun: educational work in North Africa is growing steadily, and it is evident how success rests upon the handiwork of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m.
Despite these institutions’ broad activities in education, strengthening Judaism, rescue efforts, etc., which encompass all segments of our Jewish brethren worldwide—and which naturally entail significant expenses—these institutions have not organized public fundraising campaigns until now. Their primary source of support came from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m.
It is clear that since his passing, these institutions have lost their main source of income. For over ten months now they have been facing great danger due to a lack of financial means.
The time demands URGENCY from each and every one of us—to remember both our sacred obligation and privilege—and most importantly to act in fulfilling this duty: to be among those who do and inspire others as much as possible to support these institutions that my revered father-in-law nurtured and invested his best energies into. Thank G‑d, the artisan’s strength is evident in his vessels.
Especially since the artisan’s hand has not been removed—G‑d forbid—from this vessel. Just as until now he stood and directed it, so too will he continue to stand and direct it.
My revered father-in-law said in one of his talks that sometimes when discussing something deeply personal and heartfelt they would specifically use Yiddish. He gave as an example what Admor HaZaken writes in Iggeres HaKodesh: "Gvald Gvald." One must speak in their teacher’s language: "Gvald Gvald! Until when will we remain silent? How will we justify ourselves? What will we answer when asked by my revered father-in-law: Is this your participation in my handiwork and labor for which I gave my soul?"
You are gathering on Erev Rosh Hashanah for Chassidus; may it be G‑d’s will that your good resolutions and energetic actions—in fulfilling these resolutions immediately and in the near future—will give Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch, Machne Israel, and Kehot the ability to fulfill their mission as outlined by my revered father-in-law. Then we will not be ashamed or humiliated because we can truly say: We did what you asked of us.
It goes without saying that this letter written for this gathering is also intended for those not present but who are connected to my revered father-in-law—for surely they appreciate his work properly: "The action of a tzaddik brings life to all living; every living soul is bound up with his soul with strong cords of great love—an eternal love that will never falter."
Blessing you with success in our shared work above—and concluding with our teacher’s words (my revered father-in-law): May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year in learning Chassidus and following its ways.
