With pleasure I read your letter where you write about the progress and success in the work of the Achei Temimim Yeshiva in Boston, and about your constant work and assistance for the yeshiva.

I still remember your warm words when we met a short time after the passing of my father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe, regarding my father-in-law's institutions. I am certain that you will continue your good work for all of his institutions and also influence your acquaintances and friends to join this work. As is brought in sefarim, this itself will bring success in your personal matters.

Regarding your question and suggestion to build a few more rooms in the same building of the yeshiva because the current space is too small and cannot accommodate all the students who wish to enroll—and since it would cost several thousand dollars and some members doubt whether it should be done—refusing children who want to enter yeshiva is not permitted. Moreover, this would harm, G‑d forbid, the good name of the yeshiva and consequently its income. According to how you describe the situation—that there is no other choice but to expand within the current building—it is certain that other members will also agree to this, and may Hashem grant that it be successful.

We are now approaching Shavuos, the time of Matan Torah. It is brought in Midrash that before Matan Torah, Hashem asked for guarantors but did not accept as sufficient either our holy forefathers or even Israel's shepherds until Bnei Yisrael said their children would be guarantors—that they would teach them Torah and educate them in Judaism. Only then did Hashem agree to give us His holy Torah. This should serve as a lesson for us all: one of the preparations for receiving Torah is strengthening our efforts in educating Jewish children.

Please convey my greetings and blessings to all teachers of the yeshiva and all who help materially or spiritually—especially Haraha"g vavaha"ch vavach iy"a nu"m involved in tzt"z with faith etc., Rabbi Zuber and Rabbi Kastel—may they live.
