און פונקט ווי אין צדקה גשמית, איז ווי גרויס עס איז די אחריות פון מצות צדקה אפילו ווען מ'גייט צום ארימאן, על אחת כמה וכמה גרעסער איז די אחריות, ווען דער ארימאן קומט צוגיין און דערציילט זיין לאגע און מאנט כאטש אויף שטום-לשון פארוואס העלפט מען אים ניט ארויס.
על דרך זה ביתר שאת ויתר עז, איז אין צדקה רוחנית, וואס בשעת מ'איז מחי' אן אידיש קינד מיט תורה ומצות, איז דאן ברענגט מען אים ניט נאר לחיי עולם הבא, נאר מען מאכט אים אויך א גליקליך לעבן אין עולם הזה.
מיר האט אויך אינטערעסירט צו לייענען אין אייער בריוו, וועגן מעגליכקייט און נויטיקייט צו ארבעט פאר חינוך הכשר אין האלאנד, און וועגן דרויף ביטע ווענדעט זיך דירעקט צו אונזער לשכה אין פאריז און בא-כוחינו הרה"ג והרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצרכי ציבור וכו' מוהר"ר בנימין גאראדעצקי שי'. אבער אין משנים מצדקה לצדקה און אין מערבים שמחה בשמחה, במילא די געלט וואס מ'האט באשטימט פאר דער ארבעט אין מאראקא דארף גיין אהין, און איך האף אז איר וועט קענען געפינען גענוג פאראינטערעס[יר]טע מענטשן אויפן ארט צו אנפירן די ארטיקע חינוך ארבעט אן מניעה פון געלט מיטלען. א טייל הכנסה קען מען אויך בויען אויף שכר לימוד, און דער עיקר וואס, ווי איר שרייבט, וועט נאכן ערשטן יאר זיין א מעגליכקייט איינצושליסן די ארבעט אין דעם האלענדישן פאראייניקטן איידישן אפיל.
אזוי ווי ח"י אלול און ערב ראש השנה וועל איך בלי-נדר זיין אויפן ציון פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, איז אויב איר וועט מיר צושיקן די נעמען (צוזאמען מיט מוטערס נעמען) פון זיך און אלע אייערע ב"ב שיחיו, וועל איך זייענדיק אויפן ציון דערמאנען זיי להמצטרך להם.
איך פארענדיק מיט דער וואונש, אז בא אייער פרוי זאל אלץ זיין כשורה און הריון ולידה זאל זיין בעתו ובזמנו ובנקל, און מיט איר צוזאמען מגדל זיין אלע אייערע קינדער לתורה לחופה ולמעשים טובים,

I received your letter in which you write that you have been spared, thank G‑d, from distress until now. I hope, as I wrote in my letter from 13 Nissan, that you will continue to be free from harm and distress G‑d forbid, and will be able to share good news about this.
I was also very pleased to read in your letter that you made efforts so that a specific sum from the remaining funds of the Jewish association would be allocated for our yeshivas in Morocco. It is hard to describe in words the great merit one has by participating in the work of education in Morocco—especially since, given the local circumstances there, even relatively small sums can accomplish great things.
On the other hand, the responsibility for our brothers in Morocco is much greater. Considering that their spiritual soil is ready and there is no need to come and fight for the idea of kosher education—on the contrary: they come demanding with an inner longing that kosher education be organized for them and their children saved; they rightfully demand why they are not given every opportunity for this.
Just as with material charity—the responsibility of the mitzvah of tzedakah is great even when one goes to a poor person—how much more so is it greater when the poor person comes himself and tells his situation and demands help even if only silently. Similarly—and even more so—is it with spiritual charity: when one revives a Jewish child with Torah and mitzvos, one brings him not only to eternal life in the World to Come but also grants him a happy life in this world.
I was also interested to read in your letter about the possibility and necessity of working for kosher education in Holland. For this matter please turn directly to our office in Paris and our representative Haraha"g vavaha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m ossek b'tzorkhei tzibbur etc. Binyamin Gorodetzki.
However, one does not mix one charity with another nor mix one joy with another; therefore, the money designated for work in Morocco should go there. I hope you will find enough interested people locally to lead this educational work without financial obstacles. Some income can also be built on tuition fees; mainly—as you write—after the first year there may be an opportunity to include this work within the Dutch United Jewish Appeal.
As Chai Elul and Erev Rosh Hashanah approach, I will (without vow) be at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal. If you send me your names (together with your mothers' names) as well as those of all your family members sheyichyu, I will mention them at the resting place for whatever they need.
I conclude with a wish that everything should always be well with your wife; may pregnancy and birth occur at their proper time easily; together may you raise all your children to Torah, marriage under the chuppah, and good deeds. With blessings for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year.
