Shalom u'Vrachah!

I received your letter with the enclosed pan at its proper time, and when I was at the Ohel of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I read the pan and am certain he will arouse mercy for each one of them for what they need.

Regarding the letter you sent: I have already spoken on this matter—that if our Sages said in general that leadership is not about authority but rather servitude (and this applies to all appointments among Israel), how much more so in this case, which is connected to nefesh-ruach-neshamah, chayah-yachidah, and even to the very essence of the soul (as it is known that even chayah-yachidah are only names given to it and not its essence). Therefore, one is placed into a vessel—both the writer and recipient of such a letter.

May it be G‑d’s will that all of us together, each according to his own standing and situation, merit to fulfill our mission in this world with tranquility of soul and body and true expansion. As explained in my father-in-law’s maamar for Chai Elul—now being printed—true expansion is the expansion of delight, and revelations in understanding and comprehension are bound up with essential expansiveness.

The time has already come that it should be evident in one’s surroundings that there is present a student of my father-in-law, the Rebbe; that the wellsprings are recognizable even outwardly. I am interested to know about your efforts in this regard. It is known my father-in-law’s saying: there is a covenant that sincere outreach never returns empty-handed.

Enclosed is an excerpt from a farbrengen talk from Shabbos Mevarchim Elul. Certainly you will endeavor to publicize this appropriately.
