וועגן דעם לערנען גמרא, וואס איר האט אויפגעגעבן די קביעות, ווייל עס איז שווער צו פארטיפן אין דעם:
דיינק איך אז איר דארפט באנייען די קביעות אין לערנען גמרא, און די זארג פון פארדרוס וואס עס קומט אן שווער דער לערנען און פארשטיין, און פונדעסטוועגן לערנט מען ווייטער, ווייל דאס איז חכמתו ורצונו של הקב"ה, נעמט אראפ פון אנדערע דאגות און פארדרוס פון פרנסה און געזונט.

I am pleased to hear—from your letter—that everything is, thank G‑d, in order with you regarding your set times for Torah study, and that your daughter... may she live, is learning well.
Regarding your Gemara study, which you have given up as a fixed practice because it is difficult to delve into: I think you should renew your set times for learning Gemara. The worry or frustration that comes from the difficulty of learning and understanding—and yet you continue to learn regardless, because this is the wisdom and will of the Holy One blessed be He—removes other concerns and worries about livelihood and health.
Tomorrow, with G‑d's help, I will be at the resting place of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe and will mention all of you for blessing and success in everything you all need. I hope you will continue to inform me of good news. I conclude with best wishes for all good.
