במענה על מכתבו מעש"ק, הנה כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אזכירו ואת כל ב"ב שיחיו, ובפרט לעסקנותו בהישיבה שתהי' בהצלחה למעלה מדרך הטבע היינו בלימוד התורה ובמאור שבתורה זוהי פנימיות התורה שאז יראת ד' היא אוצרו ובמילא מתקיים אמונת עתיך חוסן ישועות חכמה ודעת, וכדרז"ל על פסוק זה, ויראה פרי טוב בעמלו בהבנים אלו התלמידים ובהבנים כפשוטו ובכל יו"ח ובפרט שהם תלמידים ג"כ.
נהניתי לראות במכתבו שמכיר הוא, אשר אלה הבאים אליו בטענה אודות לימוד פנימיות התורה, ה"ז אינו אלא ענין של נסיון אשר מובא בכמה ספרים בביאור דבר זה, שלכאורה כיון שכלפי שמיא גליא, מהו הכוונה בהנסיון, אלא שהתועלת הוא בהאדם הבא לידי נסיון, שמה שהי' אצלו רק בכח, הנה בא זה בפועל, ועוד זאת שמתגלים אצלו כחות הנעלמים לגמרי, מן ההעלם אל הגילוי, ועי"ז מתוסף ג"כ תוספת חיות ואור בכל עניניו בתומ"צ, נוסף על הענין שבו נתנסה. והאריכות בזה לדכוותי' אך למותר. ובלי ספק יעמוד חזק על משמרתו משמרת הקדש לנהוג עין טובה בכל תלמידיו ולהעניק להם ממאור שבתורה, המביאה לאהבתו וליראתו ית', ולבכל דרכיך דעהו, וכפי הוראת הבעש"ט - באופן דעבדו את ה' בשמחה.

In response to your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh: When I am at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, I will mention you and your entire family for blessing, especially for your activities in the yeshivah—that they be successful beyond the natural order; that is, in Torah study and in the light within Torah, which is the inner dimension of Torah. Then 'the fear of G‑d is his treasure,' and thus is fulfilled 'emunat itecha chosen yeshuot chochmah vada'at' (faithfulness of your times will be a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge), as our Sages expound on this verse. He will see good fruit from his labor—in children who are students and in children literally—and in all matters of Yiras Shamayim (fear of Heaven), especially since they are also students.
I was pleased to see in your letter that you recognize that those who come to you with complaints about studying the inner dimension of Torah are only presenting a test. This is explained in several books: since everything is revealed before Heaven, what is the purpose of a test? The benefit is for the person being tested—that what was only potential within him comes into actuality. Furthermore, hidden strengths are revealed from concealment into revelation, thereby increasing vitality and light in all matters of Torah and mitzvot—beyond just the area where he was tested. Further elaboration on this would be superfluous for you.
Without a doubt you will stand strong at your sacred post—to act generously toward all your students and grant them from the light within Torah, which brings to love and awe of Him, may He be blessed, and to 'in all your ways know Him,' as taught by the Baal Shem Tov—in a manner of 'serve G‑d with joy.'
