קבלתי מכתביו מא' ומב' חנוכה, אשר בו שואל תקנה ותשובה על אשמיו וחטאיו.
והנה תנאי ראשון בתקנה ותשובה הוא חרטה גמורה על העבר וקבלה טובה על להבא שלא ישוב לכסלה עוד. ומכאן ולהבא הנה יקבע לו בתור תקנה ותשובה שיעורים באמירת אותיות התורה תהלים וזוהר. כמובן כל זה הוא נוסף על השיעורים הרגילים שכל אחד ואחד מישראל צריך לקחתם עליו בלי נדר.
כן ישתדל בזהירות באמירת אמן יהא שמי' רבא, קדושה וברכו, והעיקר להשפיע על ילדי ישראל לקרבם לאהבת השם יתברך, לאהבת תורתו הקדושה ולאהבת ישראל שכל אחד ואחד מהם הוא בן להשם אלקינו.
ובטח יודיעני מה שעושה בכל זה.
כן יודיעני אם לומד בהישיבה.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I received your letters from the first and second days of Chanukah, in which you ask for a tikkun and teshuvah for your transgressions and sins.
The first condition in tikkun and teshuvah is complete regret for the past and a good resolution for the future not to return to folly again.
From now on, as part of your tikkun and teshuvah, you should establish regular study sessions in reciting words of Torah, Tehillim (Psalms), and Zohar. Of course, all this is in addition to the regular study sessions that every Jew must take upon himself without a vow.
You should also be careful in responding Amen Yehei Shmei Rabba, Kedushah, and Barchu. Most importantly, you should influence Jewish children to draw them close to love of Hashem blessed be He, to love His holy Torah, and to love Israel—since each one of them is a child of Hashem our G‑d.
Certainly you will inform me about what you are doing in all this. Also let me know if you are studying in yeshivah.
