אלפנדרי, שלמה אליעזר

Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari, known as the "Saba Kadisha" (The Holy Elder), was a prominent posek (halachic authority) and kabbalist. He was born around 1815, 1826, or 1830 (the exact year is uncertain), and passed away on the 22nd of Iyar, 5690 (May 20, 1930). Rabbi Alfandari served as the Chacham Bashi (Chief Rabbi) of Damascus and later of Safed.

He was revered for his deep knowledge of Jewish law and mysticism, and his exceptional piety earned him the title "Saba Kadisha." His influence extended across the Jewish communities of the Middle East, and his rulings and teachings have continued to impact halachic discourse long after his passing
