I acknowledge receipt of your letter from Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av, and may it be G‑d's will that very soon the matter of "the merciful father, righteous and chassid specifically" will be fulfilled.

As is known, my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit shield us—was precise in the famous Iggeres HaKodesh letter 22 (134b) in Tanya Kadisha, where in both cases the title "father" is written. He noted that when it says "he loves him and disciplines him early," the title "and chassid" is not mentioned. However, when acting as an advocate for good that is visible and revealed, this additional title is included.

As you requested, I will mention you and all those you wrote about in your letter at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, according to what you wrote. Certainly, when you receive good news you will not withhold it from informing me.

Enclosed is the booklet containing the maamar of Rabbeinu HaZaken "Tzion beMishpat Tipadeh," with notes from our Rebbe the tzt"z, which for a known reason has now been printed.
