Shalom u'Vrachah!
A few weeks ago, Hashem showed His kindness to you in what happened—a situation that can truly be called a miracle. Normally, this should evoke gratitude to Hashem, Who is the healer of all flesh and performs wonders. This gratitude should be expressed in the way Hashem desires, and His will is clearly stated to all Jews—men and women alike—in His holy Torah.
Therefore, I had hoped this would awaken in you a desire to wear a full wig (sheitel), for by doing so one sanctifies Hashem's name publicly. And if it seems difficult, then expressing thanks to Hashem in this way is even greater; therefore, it should be done with even more joy.
I also hoped that your gratitude to Hashem would be expressed regarding others as well—according to how He, blessed is He, demands in His holy Torah—to influence your surroundings so they become more Jewish, especially in matters done publicly (that is, where many people see it).
Therefore I was very surprised by the report that reached me: that the miracle which happened to you was accepted as a normal occurrence—and not only did it not bring about gratitude or recognition of Hashem's kindness by becoming warmer and closer to Judaism yourself, but you are even using your influence on those close to you so they act against Shulchan Aruch. For example: when marrying off a daughter—which is the foundation for her entire life—you want to do the opposite of what Hashem says in His Shulchan Aruch.
And fearing that if the bride herself wants to act as Shulchan Aruch instructs, there are attempts to influence the parents so they do the opposite of Shulchan Aruch. Is this how one expresses gratitude after the miracle that Hashem has done?
I hope that this report is not accurate and something is amiss. But since this report reached me—and everything happens by Divine Providence—I feel obligated to write these lines above. I hope I will receive good news from you: that you have already put on a full wig at least from now on according to the custom of kosher Jewish daughters; and also that you use your influence on your environment in general and especially those close to you so they conduct themselves according to Shulchan Aruch's guidance. May Hashem bless you with success.
Summary
After experiencing a miracle from Hashem, true gratitude means aligning one's actions with Torah values and positively influencing others toward observance—especially in public matters—thus sanctifying G‑d's name.
