...נפלאתי במאד מאד על הטאן שבמכתבו... שי', שהוא כאילו זהו עניניו הפרטים של הנ"ל, והוא מצדו עושה טובה ומטפל בהם. ונפלאתי על תמים ואשר עוסק בעבודת החנוך זה כמה וכמה שנים, שלכאורה אינו תופס הענין על בוריו, כי עבודת חינוך חב"ד בכלל ו... בפרט, זהו ענינו של הקב"ה ושלוחו בזה הוא נשיאנו צי"ע כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובמילא אלו המקושרים אל כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ואפילו רק השייכים אליו, הרי ע"פ המובא בתניא כל עניניהם צריכים הם לקבל ע"י נשיאם ובפרט שהנשיא הוא ג"כ נשיא הדור הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר. אלא שאפשר להשפעה זו באופנים שונים אם בבחי' פנים או כו'. ואלו אשר זכו וזיכם השי"ת ובחר בהם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שהשפעתם תהי' דרך צנור שענינו לקרב את לבם של בני ובנות ישראל לאביהם שבשמים ולהמשיך בהם ג"כ מאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות, הרי אשרי חלקם שזכו שהשפעתם הרוחנית והגשמית ילכו בבחי' פנים בפנים ובאופן שגם האופנים מצ"ע השפעות הם להעוסקים האלו. ואם הי' מי שהוא המתווך והסרסור בזה, הרי חייבים גם להודות לו להלל ולשבח על שהעמידם על חלק היפה הטוב לו ולפני ב"ב שיחיו ברוחניות ובגשמיות גם יחד. ותמי' אחר תמי' שאפילו לדכוותי' צריך להסביר את כל זה...

I was extremely astonished by the claim in his letter... that it is as if these are merely his own personal matters regarding the above-mentioned, and that from his side he is doing a favor and taking care of them. I am surprised at a Tamim who has been involved in Chinuch work for so many years, that apparently he does not fully grasp the matter: for Chabad Chinuch work in general and ... in particular is the matter of the Holy One Blessed Be He, and His emissary in this is our Nasi—may he live—a reference to my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal. Therefore, those who are connected to my father-in-law the Rebbe—even those merely associated with him—according to what is brought in Tanya, all their matters must be received through their Nasi. Especially since the Nasi is also the Nasi of the generation—my father-in-law the Rebbe. However, this influence can come in various ways—whether openly or otherwise.
And those who have merited—and whom Hashem has purified—and whom my father-in-law the Rebbe has chosen for their influence to be as a conduit whose purpose is to draw close the hearts of Jewish sons and daughters to their Father in Heaven and to bring into them also some of the light of Torah—this being Toras HaChassidus—fortunate are they that their spiritual and material influence proceeds face-to-face, and even the methods themselves become influences for these workers.
And if there was someone who acted as an intermediary or broker in this matter, then one must also thank him—to praise and laud him—for having placed them on such a good portion for themselves and their families spiritually and materially together.
It is astonishing again and again that even someone like yourself needs all this explained...
