במענה על מכתביו, אף שבודאי קיבל כבר מענה על מקצתם ע"י הררש"מ שי',
א) בנוגע להשו"ע בטח כבר הגיעו מהררב"ג נוסח ההקדמה וההוראות בהדפסת השער. וצ"ל: היכל שלישי שער שני. וצריך להשמיט ההוספות מהצ"צ. כן מסרתי ע"י הנ"ל פוטוגרפיא מגכתי"ק אדה"ז משו"ת ע"ד ריאה להדפיס בהנ"ל. וצ"ל נייר וכריכה (בג' כרכים) היותר מהודרים. מההקדמה לא נשארה אצלי העתקה ובבקשה לשלוח לי קופיא ממנה. השער וההקדמה ידפיס לבסוף (בזמן ולא במקום כמובן) כי אפשר שיהיו איזה שינוים בזה.
ב) כל שערי אדהאמצ"ע נכללים ב"היכל רביעי שער ראשון" וגם ש"א ושהא"מ ושה"י בכלל. בהקדמת עט"ר כמובן צ"ל תש"ז ולא תש"ח.
ג) ציור שער הש"א אם נאבד יכול לקחת זה של עט"ר או שער האמונה.
ד) בקשתי את הררב"ג לשלוח לו תרמכן ככל הנצרך. אם יודע עוד איזה דרך בזה ע"י מי שהוא יודיעני ואשתדל לסדר.
ה) מתי יגיעו ספרים לכאן? ספרנו ח"א אזל כאן לגמרי וסמכנו על הדפסתו ואין כלום. וע"ע קבלנו: שני תניא'ת ושערי אורה אחד שהביאם הרב"ג בנסעו לכאן ותו לא מידי! וצריך למהר בשילוח לכאן עכ"פ ת"ק ספרנו ח"א ות"ק תניא'ת.
ו) אם יוכל למכור התניא'ת באיזורים בחצי תרמכן כל אחד, ידפיס בשבילנו מחדש אלף עקז' בתיקונים האפשריים שכתב וכל הישנים ימכרם באיזורים.
ז) ס' המאמרים ס' השיחות ופוקח עורים שהודיע שכבר נדפסו - יקחם. ישלח לכאן, לע"ע, ובהקדם, רק עשר עקז' מכאו"א והשאר ימכרם באיזורים או בפאריז.
ומחירם סהמ"א או סה"ש ששים סענט (בפאריז עה) כל אחד. פוקח עורים - טו (בפ. כ).
ויוכל ליתן מזה שכר טרחא למוכרים או לקונים הרבה עד שלשים אחוז.
ח) שמעתי שהדפיסו עוד איזה שיחות, ומכרום כבר (ובריוח). ומטובו לשלוח לנו ד-ה עקז' בשביל הביבליותיקה שלנו. ואולי כדאי שיתקשרו עם אלו שהתעסקו בהנ"ל ע"ד מכירת והפצת הנדפס על ידו כיון שכנראה בקיאים הם בזה. ואל בינתו אשען.
ט) כמדומה שכבר כתבתי שידפיס ג"כ תו"א לקו"ת וגם הפס"ד להצ"צ, כ"א - וכן גם ש' האמונה וש' היחוד ת"ק עקז'. ויודיעני אם ישנם אצלו ומאיזה דפוס. ואם אפשר כמה לערך יעלה ההוצאות לכאו"א.
יו"ד) החוברת לתניא עדיין לא הו"ל מפני הטרדות. משאר שהו"ל אשלח כבקשתו ויודיע כמה ארך ההילוך בדרך. ויאשר קבלת מכ' המוסג"פ.

In response to your letters—although you have surely already received answers to some of them via Reb Shmuel Mendel—
a) Regarding the Shulchan Aruch: you have certainly already received from Reb Binyamin Gorodetzky the text of the introduction and instructions for printing the title page. It should read: Heichal Shlishi Shaar Sheini. The additions from tzt"z should be omitted. I also sent through him a photograph of the handwriting of the Alter Rebbe from his responsa on the topic of eyesight to be printed there. The paper and binding (in three volumes) should be as elegant as possible. I do not have a copy of the introduction left; please send me one. The title page and introduction should be printed at the end (in time, not in place), since there may be some changes.
b) All Shaarei Ad HaEmtza are included in "Heichal Revi'i Shaar Rishon," including Shaarei Orah, Shaarei HaEmunah, and Shaarei HaYichud. In the introduction to Atar (the crown), it should say 5707 and not 5708.
c) If the title page illustration for Shaarei Orah is lost, you can use that of Atar or Shaar HaEmunah.
d) I requested Reb Binyamin Gorodetzky to send you funds as needed. If you know of any other way through someone else, let me know and I will try to arrange it.
e) When will books arrive here? Our Sefer No. 1 is completely out here—we relied on its printing but nothing has come yet. So far we have received two Tanyas and one Shaarei Orah brought by Reb Binyamin when he traveled here—and nothing more! Please hurry to send at least five hundred copies of our Sefer No. 1 and five hundred Tanyas here.
f) If you can sell the Tanyas in regions at half a fund each, print for us anew one thousand copies with all possible corrections you wrote about; all old ones should be sold in those regions.
g) Sefer HaMaamarim, Sefer HaSichos, and Pokeach Ivrim—which you said were already printed—take them; send here for now only ten copies each as soon as possible; sell the rest in regions or in Paris. Their price: Sefer HaMaamarim or Sefer HaSichos—sixty cents each (in Paris seventy). Pokeach Ivrim—fifteen (in Paris twenty). You may give up to thirty percent commission to sellers or bulk buyers.
h) I heard that some other sichos were printed and already sold (profitably). Please send us two to five copies for our library. Perhaps it is worthwhile to connect with those involved in these matters regarding selling and distributing what he prints since they seem experienced in this area. I rely on your judgment.
i) I believe I already wrote that he should also print Torah Or Likkutei Torah as well as Pesak Din for tzt"z—each one—and also Shaar HaEmunah and Shaar HaYichud—five hundred copies each. Let me know if he has them and from which press; if possible, how much approximately will it cost per copy?
j) The Tanya booklet has not yet been published due to preoccupations. Of what has been published otherwise I will send as requested; let me know how long it takes en route.
