ובודאי לדכוותי' אך למותר להעיר על מרז"ל שמדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה וכשמוסיפים בבריאות מושפעיו היינו סביבתו וקהלתו בריאות ברוחניות ע"י קירוב לבם יותר ויותר לאבינו שבשמים הרי הקב"ה מוסיף בריאות הגשמי והרוחני (אשר אצל איש הישראלי יחד ילכו והא בהא תליא) בהמצטרך לו ולאשתו דאשתו כגופו דמיא וזהו נוסף על ענין זה שגדול ערכו בפ"ע וכמובא הביאור במרז"ל שכר מצוה מצוה, אשר עצם היכולת לעשיית המצוה בפועל זהו שכר היותר גדול שנברא יכול לקבל בחסד חנם של הקב"ה המאפשר לאדם קרוץ מחומר למלאות רצון ממה"מ הקב"ה בכבודו ובעצמו.

Your pidyon nefesh regarding your wife, the Rebbetzin Mrs. ... may she live, has just been received. When I am at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, I will mention her for a speedy recovery, and may it be G‑d's will that you receive good news in this matter.
Certainly for your honor it is almost unnecessary to point out our Sages' teaching that G‑d's measure is measure for measure. When one increases the health of those influenced by him—that is, his surroundings and community—in spiritual health by bringing their hearts closer and closer to our Father in Heaven, then G‑d adds both physical and spiritual health (which for a Jew go hand in hand and are interdependent) in all that he and his wife need, for a wife is considered as one's own self. This is in addition to the inherent value of this matter itself, as explained in our Sages' teaching: "The reward of a mitzvah is the mitzvah itself," meaning that the very ability to perform a mitzvah in practice is the greatest reward a created being can receive—by G‑d's gratuitous kindness enabling a material being to fulfill the will of the King of kings Himself.

By strengthening others spiritually within your community, you draw down increased physical and spiritual blessings for yourself and your family. The opportunity to do mitzvos is itself an immense gift from G‑d.
