The Rebbe's guidance on caring for new immigrants to Eretz Yisrael — their Jewish education and their integration:
Help them spiritually and materially. Help new immigrants settle both materially and spiritually, promptly and in an organized way, so that no one is left isolated (IK 10113, 10554). Help must be given unconditionally and with sensitivity (IK 10394). See to their religious needs from the moment they arrive (IK 8322), and continue their religious education afterwards (IK 9589).
Children and youth first. Urgent action was needed to give immigrant children and youth — from Morocco and elsewhere — a safe haven and Torah education (IK 1206). Build yeshivos and schools where immigrants are settling, and do it quickly, before they are drawn elsewhere (IK 1494, 8437, 8446); support the institutions that help young people struggling to integrate (IK 10573).
Speak their language. Teach immigrant women with sensitivity, fitting lessons to their background while holding to Torah standards (IK 8315). Translations prepared for immigrants must use language and terms familiar to them (IK 10590).
Everyone's responsibility. Nshei Chabad and the whole community have a share in this work (IK 10196), and public representatives should be pressed to keep their promises to immigrants (IK 3781). Practical help, such as with housing, goes together with inspiring them in Torah (IK 9785).
