Shalom u'Vrachah!
I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 20th of Shevat, which was a response to my letter written the day after the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe. Surely by now you have also received my subsequent letter with its enclosure. Just now I have also received a letter from the chairman of the Kfar Chabad committee, Mr. Shlomo Maidensik, regarding the meeting in Room 20 and the content of that conversation.
Heartfelt thanks for your constant and consistent efforts and assistance in all matters concerning Kfar Chabad—especially its development—not only in length and breadth but also, I hope, in depth and height. This includes as explained regarding depth, length, and breadth at the beginning of Shaar HaYichud by the Mitteler Rebbe—the book about which the leaders of Chabad said it is "the key to Chassidus."
May it be G‑d's will that you fulfill what our Sages said: "If one begins a mitzvah he is told to complete it," and may you soon merit to complete and participate in fully realizing this plan—including that the residential buildings will be filled with new immigrants who will soon settle permanently in our holy land. Then a second group will come after them, then a third group, and so on—until "As in the days when you left Egypt I will show him wonders" (Micah 7:15) even now; that you will "empty out Egypt," as our Sages interpret: make it like a trap without grain (Berachos 9b). Is G‑d's hand limited? The salvation of G‑d comes in an instant.
In the language of Chassidus: heartfelt wishes that every Jew mentioned here needs an essential increase—that all this should be with visible and revealed good, with abundant joy—as in these upcoming days of Purim when "it was turned around," and "the Jews had light and joy..." (Esther 8:16), and no verse loses its simple meaning. The advantage of Purim over Chanukah is that Purim's joy is both bodily and spiritual joy together.
On another note but related: A mitzvah accepted with joy is bringing your nephew into the covenant of Avraham Avinu; he was named Chaim Vital. In traditional style: May it be G‑d's will that just as he entered into Avraham Avinu's covenant so too may he enter Torah study, marriage canopy, and good deeds.
To conclude your letter regarding travel to a country with high mountains*, may it be G‑d's will that your trip be successful—with sanctification of Heaven and Israel—and your return should be an ascent at an auspicious time with happiness and gladness.
With esteem and respect—and blessings for good news and a joyous Purim,
M. Schneersohn
P.S. I read with interest your note about inviting those leading Chabad activities on college campuses—including Professor Rosenblum who visited Eretz HaKodesh last summer; he too is among them. In my opinion, as I know him among others, Professor Dr. Velvel Green from Minneapolis, Minnesota is most fitting for such an invitation. His name itself attests to this—he is called "Velvel" by everyone.
Summary
The Rebbe expresses gratitude for dedicated work on behalf of Kfar Chabad’s growth—encouraging both material expansion and spiritual depth—emphasizes Purim’s unique joy combining body and soul, blesses family milestones with traditional wishes, and prays for success in all endeavors.
