בטח ידוע להם ומכירים את ידידנו הכי נעלה הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ מו"מ באמונה ותומך מוסדותינו הק' משנים קדמוניות עד היום, מוה"ר יעקב שי' כהן כ"ץ משיקאגא, והיות אביו של הנ"ל נמצא כעת באה"ק ת"ו, וצריך לדירה לדור בה, הנני מבקשם להשתדל למצוא עבורו דירה מתאימה בהקדם, ויתדברו עמדו, אולי יש לו כבר מראה מקום לדירה, במקום שלבו חפץ, וכמדומה שהוא בבני ברק, ובמשך הזמן בודאי ישלם אביו ההוצאות הכרוכות בזה, לאט לאט, ועד שישלם סכום הוצאה שתעלה השגת הדירה, הנה הצעתי אשר יקחו את הדירה ע"ש אגודת חסידי חב"ד באה"ק ת"ו.
אקווה שלא ימשיכו את ההשתדלות בהשגת הדירה עבורו, כי לפי הידיעות נמצא הנ"ל בתנאים אי נוחים, ות"ח על טרחתם בזה, ואחכה לידיעה טובה מהם מה שפעלו לטובה בענין זה בהקדם האפשרי.
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתם בקודש וחג פסח כשר ושמח.

Surely you know and are acquainted with our most esteemed friend, the vavac"h iy"a nu"n faithful businessman and supporter of our holy institutions from many years ago until today, Moreinu HaRav Yaakov Kohen Katz from Chicago. Since his father is now in Eretz HaKodesh and needs a place to live, I ask you to make efforts to find him a suitable apartment as soon as possible. Please speak with him; perhaps he already has an idea for a place where he wishes to live—apparently in Bnei Brak. Over time, his father will surely pay the associated costs little by little until he covers the full amount required for obtaining the apartment. My suggestion is that you take the apartment under the name of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Eretz HaKodesh.
I hope you will not delay your efforts in securing this apartment for him, as according to reports he is currently in uncomfortable conditions. Thank you very much for your efforts in this matter, and I await good news from you about what you have accomplished as soon as possible.
