נוסף על הפ"ש שבקשתי את ש"ב הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצ"צ רב פעלים וכו' מוה"ר רע"ז שי' סלונים למסור לכ', וחזקה שליח עושה שליחותו, ובטח מסר גם הספר לאדמו"ר הצ"צ אשר זה עתה יצא לאור,
באתי בזה גם בכתובים - לאחר שתהי' נסיעת כ' כשורה ובהצלחה בכל הפרטים, הנסיעה הביקורים והחזרה עלי' בעתה ובזמנה לאה"ק ת"ו, מתוך בריאות הנכונה בשמחה ובטוב לבב, וברכת ה' תלוהו בהאמור ובכל עניניו - לאורך ימים ושנים טובות.
והרי התחלתה בחודש הגאולה, גאולה באופן אשר "ראו כל אפסי ארץ ישועת אלקינו" וקידוש "שמו של הקב"ה בין העמים" (לשון רבנו הזקן באגרת ע"ד הגאולה שלו),
והרי בכל שנה ושנה בתקופת השנה חוזרים הענינים ונמשכים ומאירים בחיי כל אחד ואחד ההולך בדרך ה', מוארה באור בעלי הגאולה הנ"ל, ובפרט - המייצג את הרבים ובא בכח רבים, אשר אף שרבים הם גוי אחד בארץ הם.

נ.ב. נצטערתי רבות (א) על השמועה אשר חשד בי כ' שעומד אני לבקר באהקת"ו מבלי להודיעו מקודם. והוא בהיפך מוחלט להיחסים שבינותינו - אילו לא הודעתי לכ'.
ואדרבה, אי ההודעה היא הוכחה שלא הי' להאמור כל יסוד.
(ב) זה עתה הגיעתני שמועה שני', אשר חושש כ' שתוכן הדו"ח של השיחה עם מר ס. שי' ראטבערג ותמיכתו לעניני חב"ד יש לזה איזו שייכות לתמיכה האמורה מאז על ידי הדז'וינט (למפעל בנין המלון בכפר חב"ד בשביל העולים החדשים ממדינתנו לפנים).
שנוסף על הדין הברור שאין משנים מצדקה לצדקה, ונוסף אשר מובן שבענין שכ' השקיע בו עמל
ויגיעה לא הייתי עושה בזה דבר מבלי לברר דעתו מראש, הרי כמדומה שהובלט במכתבי לכ' בדו"ח האמור - שהי' הדיבור עם הנ"ל מפני הענין שמהלכים לו (ס.ר.) בין נדיבי ארצות הברית ואין לזה כל שייכות לדז'וינט. ולא עוד אלא גם כשהזכרתי בהשיחה ע"ד עסקנותו של הנ"ל הוזכר אך ורק ובדיוק - אודות היו-דז'יי-איי והבאנדס.
(ג) בנוגע למקום בנין המלון להעולים הנ"ל: אמת הדבר שהי' לי בזה [-] וגם עתה כן הוא - חוות דעת כמבואר במכתב המצורף בזה . אבל מובן שההחלטה הרי היא ביד כ' - יוזם הרעיון ושגם הביאו לשלב מעשי בדיבורו עם מר ד. ה. דז'ורדאן שי', ולא עוד אלא שלמרות שהמכתב המצורף בזה נכתב לפני כמה וכמה שבועות, הנה עכבתי המשלוח עד שיתבררו עוד פרטים בהאמור (ידיעות ברורות יותר בנוגע העלי' משם, הסיכויים להתחלת בנין כפר חב"ד הב' וההשערה בנוגע לגמרו, וכולי). אבל כיון שכבר הגיעה לכ' השמועה ע"ד חוות דעתי כללית בנוגע למקום בנין המלון, הנני שולח מכתב האמור ובהוספה - שעד כמה שנתבררו הפרטים האמורים הרי זה מחזק עוד יותר דעתי - שכדאי לבנות המלון האמור בהקדם הכי אפשרי, שזאת אומרת - בכפר הקיים כבר, נוסף על הטעמים המבוארים במכתב המצורף. ובהוספה עוד הפעם, שהחלטה הסופית בזה היא ביד כ', שהרי סוף סוף כוונת שנינו היא אך ורק לטובת העולים ומשפחותיהם שיחיו, שכן ירבו בקרוב ממש ויעלו ברינה ושמחת עולם על ראשם.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In addition to the regards I requested Reb Avraham Zalman Slonim to convey to you—and surely a messenger fulfills his mission—and certainly he also delivered the book to you about the tzt"z Rebbe that has just been published, I am writing as well—after your trip will be successful in every detail: the journey, visits, and return at its proper time to Eretz HaKodesh, in good health with joy and gladness of heart. May G‑d's blessing accompany you in all these matters and in all your affairs—for long days and good years.
The beginning of this is in the month of redemption—a redemption in a manner that "all ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our G‑d" and a sanctification of "the Name of the Holy One Blessed Be He among the nations" (in the words of our master the Alter Rebbe regarding his redemption). Every year at this season these matters recur and are drawn down and shine in the life of each individual who walks in G‑d's path, illuminated by the light of those mentioned above who experienced redemption—especially one who represents many and comes with their collective strength; for though they are many, they are one nation in the land.

(a) I was very distressed by the report that you suspected I intended to visit Eretz HaKodesh without informing you beforehand. This is completely contrary to our relationship—if I had not informed you. On the contrary, not informing you is proof that there was no basis for such a thing.
(b) Just now another report reached me—that you are concerned that my report about my conversation with Mr. S. Rotberg and his support for Chabad matters is somehow connected to previous support from the Joint (for building the hotel in Kfar Chabad for new immigrants from our former country). Besides the clear halachic ruling that one does not transfer charity from one cause to another, it is also understood that regarding something into which you invested effort I would not act without first clarifying your opinion. Moreover, as I believe was emphasized in my letter to you about that report—the conversation with him was because he has influence among American philanthropists and has no connection to the Joint. Furthermore, even when mentioning his communal activities it was only specifically about UJA and Bonds.
(c) Regarding the location for building the hotel for these immigrants: It is true that I had—and still have—a particular opinion as explained in my attached letter. But it is understood that the decision rests with you—the initiator of this idea who brought it to practical discussion with Mr. D.H. Jordan. Moreover, although this attached letter was written several weeks ago, I delayed sending it until more details became clear (more definite information regarding immigration from there, prospects for starting construction on Kfar Chabad II and estimates regarding its completion, etc.). But since word has already reached you about my general opinion regarding where to build the hotel, I am sending this letter now—and additionally: as more details have become clear this only strengthens my view—that it is worthwhile to build this hotel as soon as possible; meaning—in an already existing village—in addition to reasons explained in my attached letter.
Again emphasizing: The final decision rests with you; after all our sole intent is only for the benefit of these immigrants and their families—may they increase very soon and ascend with song and everlasting joy upon their heads.
