Shalom u'Vrachah!
Haraha"g vavac"h iy"a nu"n oseik b'tzt"z Mohe Eliezer Lipa Lavi
I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 23rd of Adar Sheni, and afterwards also the books you sent as per the list below, headed by your own book, Otzar Maamarim Al HaTorah. Certainly you will continue this practice in the future as well; thank you very much in advance for what has been done and what will be done.
May it be G‑d's will that for many more years you continue to spread Judaism—both its revealed and inner dimensions—among ever-widening circles and with proper health: health in both body and spirit. If at all times and places this matter was great (see Zohar III 5a that greatness is when the King and Queen—Kudsha Brich Hu and Knesses Yisrael—Torah and mitzvos are fulfilled specifically in the physical world as explained elsewhere), how much more so in our generation of Ikvesa d'Meshicha. Along with this is the final point—the coming and revelation of "He who stands behind our wall, observing and peering." May it be G‑d's will that this revelation be soon in our days—that is, very soon—as our Sages ruled (Shemos Rabbah 15:11) that in Nissan we are destined to be redeemed; therefore joy was established in it—a redemption with joy, tranquility, calmness, and may we witness wonders.
With blessings for good news and a kosher and joyous Pesach holiday.
P.S. As is my custom and out of fondness for the matter, I will at least note some points regarding your book. To begin with: It is a pity that you did not collect at least some gems from the treasury of Chabad Chassidus; this is regrettable for several reasons—even though there is certainly justification here since not only did it depend on you alone (and that's enough said). Nevertheless, the reader or student of your book ultimately will not encounter these true gems which reflect and illuminate many concepts as well as a unique worldview. Surely I do not need to elaborate further to someone like yourself—especially since I hope that with greater breadth of mind you will yet add your hand to publish such material as mentioned above, filling also the area I pointed out; then there will be room for even greater fulfillment.
Of course I noticed at the beginning of your book where you brought from Chabad teachings as well as from the introduction by Admor HaTzt"z; this further strengthens the aforementioned justification since regarding introductions only you yourself were able to decide.
b) In Likutei at the beginning of Parshas Mishpatim p. 131 regarding Beis Yaakov's commentary—it seems his intent is that when coming before a Beis Din one should not show honor to anyone so as not to silence another's arguments; therefore also in this parsha it was concealed that specifically Moshe was spoken to.
c) There p. 199—from the compiler based on Tanya chapter 32. Note that what is discussed in Tanya is explained even more in Likutei Torah Parshas Mattos discourse "Heichaltzu," especially how this relates to Shem Havayah. All 613 mitzvos depend on Shem Havayah (introduction to Tikkunei Zohar IIa; ibid. IIb). By substituting mem-tzadi with alef-tav bet-shin—mitzvah becomes Shem Havayah (Likutei Torah Vayikra IIa).
d) There p. 269—from Tanya chapter 5. Note from Moreh Nevuchim I ch. 8 (commentary on Avos chapter 3 mishna 3). Part printed in Likutei Sichos vol. 21 p. 453; part in vol. 22 p. 309; completed based on a copy from the secretariat.
Mohe Eliezer Lipa: Lavi, Jerusalem.
Additional letters to him: above vol. V Tashla [5711], referenced there in notes.
In Likutei at beginning of Parshas Mishpatim p.131: Why does it not say "And G‑d spoke to Moshe..."? Because this matter deals with laws—and regarding law there is no difference between small or great... all are equal regarding law.
There p.199: Just as Shemitah is from Sinai so too all are from Sinai... Tanya chapter 32... From these words it is clear that no mitzvah can be fulfilled completely unless one first reaches the level of "Love your fellow as yourself"... That is why it says... just as Shemitah is from Sinai etc.
Summary
The Rebbe expresses gratitude for efforts in spreading Torah through publishing works but encourages including Chabad teachings for their unique illumination. He offers constructive feedback while blessing continued success in both material and spiritual endeavors.
