מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו, בו כותב אודות לקוט על הש"ס מספרי החסידות כעין שיטה מקובצת.
והנה מובן אשר בכלל נכון הדבר, אבל ביחד עם זה לע"ע אין ביכולתי להעמיד זה על סדר היום דפעולות קה"ת עכ"פ בעתיד הקרוב מפני כמה ענינים דעבוד כת"י והכנה להו"ל שכבר נכנסו בהם או עכ"פ התחילו בהם או עכ"פ כבר התחייבו בהתחלה.
ולהעיר בהאמור, אשר בהנוגע לספרי היסוד של תורת חסידות חב"ד, תניא תורה אור לקוטי תורה, הרי הנ"ל יש להם מפתח ענינים (שכבר יצאו לאור) שבעצם ה"ז כבר חלק חשוב בהכנה לדפוס לקוט האמור בהנוגע לחסידות חב"ד, וע"פ מרז"ל הכל תלוי במזל ואפילו ס"ת שבהיכל בודאי שסו"ס גם הנ"ל יבוא בפועל.
בודאי לדכוותי' למותר להעיר ענין י"ב וי"ג תמוז חג גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, ותקותי שגם בגופו ישתתף בהתועדות ימים אלו.
בברכה לבשו"ט מתוך בריאות הנכונה ובברכת חג הגאולה.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter, in which you write about an anthology on the Shas from Chassidic texts, similar to the Shitah Mekubetzet.
It is understood that in general this is a proper idea. However, at present I am unable to place this on Kehot's agenda for the near future due to various ongoing projects involving manuscript work and preparations for publication that have already begun or at least have been initiated or at least have already been committed to start.
It should be noted regarding the foundational books of Chabad Chassidus—Tanya, Torah Or, Likkutei Torah—that these already have subject indexes (which have already been published), which in essence are already an important part of preparing such an anthology for print regarding Chabad Chassidus. As our Sages say: "Everything depends on mazal—even a Sefer Torah in the ark," so certainly this too will eventually come to fruition.
Certainly it is unnecessary to remind you about the significance of 12–13 Tammuz, the festival of redemption of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe. I hope you will also participate physically in the farbrengen during these days.
